As Thanksgiving Day approaches,
our blessings we recall;
the things we are most thankful for,
we recollect them all. You are really special,
in all you say and do.
You've made a difference in our lives;
we're thankful now for you.

Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving Day?
What's its significance, all of us say.
We all find importance for which we are thankful,
and what we spend on this holiday is surely a bank full.  First the purchase of food for parties galore,
then the fuel and decorating costs come to the fore.
We eat so much food that many get ill,
and drug makers get richer with each little pill. It all becomes clear, if we closely examine
that we're not giving thanks for avoiding a famine;
we're creating the wealth and the plenty we see,
including the sports ads we watch on TV.  

 One two three,
A turkey in a tree;
Four five six,
That turkey's in a fix;
Seven eight nine,
It always tastes so fine;
When we get to ten
It's Thanksgiving once again.
