Ty Ana Williams, now 12yrs old, plays at the Cincinnati Open. She played at the USTA Midwest Open Series Finals, a master women tournament; which was held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, host of the Cincinnati Open. After qualifying for this event, by being one of the top 8 ladies in the Midwest, Ty Ana Williams played in the semi-finals, her opponent an Ohio State division I Senior, who she faced before. Ty Ana said "it was great to walk through those gates as a player this soon." This event was held during the men's Quarters, Semi & Finals, the busnesss end of all tournament. "I would liked to have played the week before with the ladies, but being there with Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic wasn't too bad." stated Ty Ana Williams
"I had two great moments at this event, my afternoon warm-up and my end of the day hit around on court 4, a show court. First I was warming up next to show court 4, where Andy Murray was going through his warm-ups. To my surprise I had almost as many people watching my warm-up as he had, some people was standing up trying to see both of us practice, that was cool."
"To end my day and to give me one of the greatest moments since opening for the King of Swing, Pete Sampras, (in 2007 at The FedEx Shoot-out in Chicago) I was on the show court 4 practicing and at the end of Federer's match against Murray, the crowd was coming to court 4 to see Novak Djokovic warm-up for his night match against Nadal. With thousands of people leaving center court, some of them headed to court 4, but when they got there Djokovic wasn't there, I was. I thought that they was going to turn around and walk out, but they just kept coming; that made me feel very happy." Ty Ana said
"I had video of my ending practice, but my father lost the flash drive; I didn't make it to the finals, but just being there was just like it to me." said Ty Ana Williams
