    Daunte Culpepper joins The Dolphins

Tuesday, March 14, 2006, 03:49 PM EST [General]

So  Nick  Saban  has  made his  decision.  I  personally  thought that  he  would have   gone with  the choice  of   Drew  Brees.   But  if  the  reports   are  true  that  Brees  wanted   a  supposed    6 year  deal  at  $10 mil  a   year.   I  can  see  the  sense  in  his  choice.   I  felt  Brees    was   by   far   the better   choice,  considering  his  success   over the  past  two years    and  his  consistency  and proficiency  as a  quarterback.   I've   always  felt  that at times   watching   Culpepper  recently ,  you  could never be sure  what  you  were going to  get.     With   both  players coming  off  injuries ,  it'll  be   great  to  see  how   they'll  perform  over the   coming   season.     I  expect  Brees   will  end up   in  New  Orleans   as  they've got the money   to  spend.

Thoughts on A-Rod singles in winning run vs. Japan

Monday, March 13, 2006, 03:01 PM EST [General]

A response to A-Rod singles in winning run vs. Japan:

It was a timely reminder  why  A-Rod  is who he is.   Hopefully , it will be a sign  of things to come for  The  Yankees.  Because now, more than ever the team will be reliant  upon  him, Jeter, Sheffield, Matsui  and  Cano  to  provide  the offense.  The  pitching  still will be the Achilles'   heel  of    this  team.  The disputed  call  asides, the  U.S.  team  was very  lucky  to come away  with  a  win.  They  were  outplayed  by the  Japanese   in the game,  in all  facets.    Had the  ruling come down  in favor   of the Japanese,  we would not be  talking  about  A-Rod's   batting in  the winning  run.  More  so ,  we would   be discussing the  latest   sporting debacle   of   a  U.S.  team    of  overpaid  superstars beaten  by   a lowly  Japanese   team.
