Rookie Of The Year ; Chris Paul New Orleans/Oaklahoma Hornets. Without doubt this rookie has proved that he's going to be a star in this League. Without him , I doubt that we'd be talking about the team as a possible play-off contender. His all round skills are impressive. And he has the temperament to lead this franchise for years to come. In the wake of the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina , Paul has been the one bright spot for the team. League MVP Le Bron James Cleveland Cavaliers. I make no bones about my choice, after all it is my choice ! Without a doubt Le Bron's numbers speak for themself, add to that the players around him have also put respectable numbers. His leadership on the floor made those around him better. And dare I say it , they're on their way to the play-offs. Who'd have thought that about the franchise coming into this season. I had considered the following players worthy of a mention, Dwayne Wade, Chauncey Billupps,Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Kobe Bryant. Wade has had an outstanding season , but with the talent surrounding him that was to be expected. Billupps as usual was just his himself, Mr. Dependable. His unselfishness show me that he's matured as a player, and in any other season he would have been my choice. Nash and Marion have been the catalyst for the extraordinary season The Suns have had. The loss of Amare Stoudemire would have sunk many teams , but these two individuals picked up their game and took it to the next level. Marion's stats alone bares that out. Nash just showed that last years' MVP was no fluke. He was as consistent, as he was dynamic. Kobe Bryant , to me just proves to that he's a mercurial talent. His 81 points against The Mavericks was stupendous, and his will to win immeasurable. But where I fault Bryant is in his leadership skills. He's doesn't always seem to want to involve his teammates. Night after night the box scores reads like Bryant and no one else. Perception may be ! Coach Of The Year Avery Johnson Dallas Mavericks Any coach that can get The Mavericks to play defense deserves to be named Coach of The Year. He has brought about a disciplined approach to the team. It is also quite amazing to see a team that handles this adjustment without any major disruption of their natural flowing game. Dirk Nowitzki has flourished in Johnson's system and the play of Jason Terry has been great.
