A response to Armstrong trial ends when charges withdrawn: Here am I thinking that cycling was a sport above reproach. But in reality it's just another sport that needs its own piece of stark publicity. For three week during the height of Summer it becomes a sport the Europeans fawn over, and then just like that disappears into oblivion. For many Americans while we had Lance Armstrong competing, we were captivated by his antics. Seven successful triumphs in the Tour de France wasn't enough for the Europeans to bare. So they tried to tear down his achievements by suggesting that he had used controlled substances to enhance his accomplishments. When they could not substantiate those claims, they then sought to sue Armstrong in court. Once again it shows that the Europeans and in particular the French, are sore losers. Never once have they ever come up with any concrete evidence to show that Armstrong has ever used any banned substances, and furthermore when it has come about that a competitor has been found to have used anything illegal. The individual concerned just happens to a competitor who is in fact from a European country. Why do I not find this astonishing ? Again sore losers ! The only known American competitor who's been alleged to have used a controlled substance was Tyler Hamilton and to my knowledge he fouhgt those allegations. He took his case to the CAS ( Council For Arbitration On Sports ) and won. Thankfully , Lance has decided to retire from the sport seemingly with his reputation in tact. But one can't help wondering if there'll be anymore allegations against him in the future.
