While   multi-tasking  this  morning ,  listening    to  Yahoo's  Launch  Cast  radio while  offering  comentary  on  certain blogs, it got  me  thinking  as  to  what  song, song  lyrics  or  artist  best  identifies   with  the  sport's   franchise    you  support or personality  that  you like.   While  reading  a blog,   50  cent's 'Window Shopper '  was  playing  in  the  background   and  almost  it  thinking  that  the  song  best  identifies  with    the New York  Yankees.

Make  no mistake    this   was  the  'House that  Ruth  Built'  but  George    now  owns  it  and  he  spends  his  money  as  hee  sees  fit.   A  new  much  grander , more  resplendent stadium  is  being   built  to  signify  Steinbrenner's  ambitions.But   for now  they'll  reside  in  Yankee  Stadium  still  with  the  desire  of  winning  pennants  and  in  particular  more   World  Series  championships. That  doesn't  mean   that  George will  abandon  snapping  up  the  best  of  the  major   baseball  talent  in  order  to  strengthen  his  already  burgeoning  All Star  team.

Another  franchise  that could  also   identify  with  this  song  is  the  Washington  Redskins.  Redskins'   owner  Daniel  Snyder  largesse  knows  no  boundaries  as  he's  prepared  to  spend  whatever  it  takes  to   garner  success   for  his  beloved  Redskins.   The   team's  coaching  staff  alone  is  paid  upwards  of  over  $12m  a  year  and     onfield   success  so  far   has  been  negligable .  The  talent  acquired  through  the    draft,  free  agency  and    trades  have  been  less  than  stellar. 

50  having  acquired   a great  amount    of  wealth  in  an  extremely  short  priod  of   time  has  become    the  consummate  business  man   and  entrepeneur.  His  name    is  splashed  across   the    iconic    cultural   divide,   endorsing   everything  from  watches   to  specially   branded   drinking  water  with  his  name  and  image on the  product.

My   beloved  Florida  Marlins   continue  to play  a  spirited  brand  of  baseball and  even   surprised  a  number  of  people  within    the  baseball  world,  with  their   resiliency   and    the  maturity  of  their  young players.   Up  until  the  final  week  of  the  regular    season  they    were  within   a shot  of  making  the  post season.  Had  it  not  been  for  a   poor  first  half  to   the  season    they  may  well  have  been  joining   in  post season  play.  However  with  the  impending  departure  of   manager  Joe  Girardi  the  team is  placed   in  another    dilemma  as  it  now  has to  seek  another    coach    for  the  second  time  within  two  years.  

 This  situation  has become   all   the  more  bewildering    for  the  ever  devoted    fans  of  this    South   Flordia    team.   The   players  are  in place   but  no  one  is    there  to  provide    the  off  field  leadership.    This  is  down    to  the  almost    tyrannical   authority    of  owner  Jeffrey Loria   and  his  stepson  David  Samson, who  in  his    role  as    GM  has  been  unwavering  in  the  support  of  his   step  father  at  every    juncture  even  when  it  has  been  to  the  detriment   of  the  team.  At  this  juncture    the  team    still  plays   in  the  Joe  Robbie   Stadium  ,  home  to   the  Miami   Dolphins.   The stadium    situation  has  yet   to be  settled    but   yet    ownership  sees  fit  to  belittle   its  fans.

The  song   that    both  best   exemplifies    their  season   and  my   avocation   to  the  team  is    Gnarls  Barkley's   'Crazy'.    The  song   is  about    the  troubles  and    torments  that  we   have  or  face  in  life.  And    what    we  do    to  face  and    deal  with  those  fears.   In    effect   we  at  times  we  feel   that    we're  crazy   when    we  aren't  able   to    make  heads  or  tails   of  the  situation.

Both  Roger  Federer  and  Tiger  Woods  dominate  their   respective  sport  to  such  an  extent     that    the    public are  in  awe  at   their    ever  increasing  lists  of   of  accomplishments.  It   should   go  without  saying  that  whenever  such  dominance    occurs    usually   the  public  becomes  bored and   tend  not    to  attend  an  event  because    the  result    is  a foregone   conclusion.   In  the  case of    both   Woods  and  Federer     this   is  not    the  case  as   both    athletes  are   loved   and  respected   by  the  fans , the  armchair  viewer   and   their    respective    peers  alike. 

     Sade   in  performance,  alhthough now  somewhat  of a  recluse  still  performs ..........though  not  quite   that  much  on  a  regular  basis.

Most     definately     the  song  that   identifies   with  both   of  these  athletes  has  to  be   Sade's   sexy  and  silky  ballad   'Smooth  Operator'   as  it's    the epitome   as  to  what   both    competitors    are  about.

Catherine   Bell   played    the  role  of  Col.  Sarah  McKenzie   on  CBS'  long  running drama  'JAG'.   Although   the series   ended   its  run  on  tv  , it's  still  fondly  remembered  by     its  fans.  

Sofia  Milos   was   born   in  Zurich, Switzerland    to  parents   of  the  Greek and  Italian  origin.  This   former model    can  be  seen   in  the   CBS  crime  drama  CSI   Miami  in  a  recurring   role  of   Sofia  Kane,  Horatio   Cane's  widowed  sister in  law  on  the   show.

Miss  Bootylicious  herself   Beyonce Knowles    seems  to  be  everyman's  dream  at  the  moment.  And  the  reason  may  well   be  Knowles'  rear, perhaps  the  best  thing  to  come  out  of  Texas   in the last  twenty  five  plus  years.

Victoria's  Secret   model   Tyra Banks   is   now  a successful  talk  show  host , as  well  as   hosting   the ubiquitous  America's  Next Top  Model  Show. Banks  has  all  but retired from  catwalk  scene , only  rarely  hitting the  catwalk.  And  only  doing  so  at  the  request  of  the top  designers   themselves.   Her  time   now  is  toatally devoted  towards  both  of  her  shows    of  which  she  produces and  has  complete  creative  control  over.   

Juliette   Lewis   is  perhaps  best   known  for  her   role  as  young  and  naive  teenager   Danielle  Dubrone    in  Martin   Scorcese's  1994   remake  of   'Cape  Fear'   for  which  she   was  Oscar    and   Golden  Globe    nominated.   The  role  called  for  her  to  play  the   daughter   of    a    morally   challenged  DA   whose  life  is  being   is   being  turned  upside  down  by    a   recently   released  felon    played    by    Robert  De Niro.    She'll   also  be   remembered  for   the  ultra  violent   role  that   she played  alongside  Woody  Harrelson    in  Oliver  Stone's   'Natural   Born Killers'.

Mena   Suvari   is  perhaps  best    remembered   for   her  roles   in   the  first   two   American  Pie  movies  in  which    she   played  a  sultry  and  delectable  artist  and   choir  member.    And   perhaps    the  role  that  really  got  tongues  wagging  as   the  young    neighbor   who  tempts   Kevin  Spacey's  character  in  some    of  the most  delightful  ways  in  the hit  movie  American  Beauty.

For   years    we  were    treated  to   seeing  this  beauty    Jolene  Blalock  on  one  the  many    Star    Trek  spin  off's  of  the  tv  series.    In   her  role  as  T'Pol  she  was    the  Vulcan   with    the  wisdom   and    the   sexual    allureness   that  had  her  crew    members  fixated.

The  beautiful  and  alluring  Blalock   poses  in all  her beauty. Needless  to say  the  fans  of  Star  Trek  sorely   miss  the  character.

As   the   midterm elections   approach    we  as  citizens    will  be  called  to  perform  our  civic   duty    of  voting   to  elect officials  into  office.   They'll be  many  who'll  be  seeking   to  be  reelected  and  there'll  be  others    seeking  office  for   the  first  time.     For  some  it'll    be  a repetitive  procees  as  they  see  it  as  matter  of  trying  to achieve  the  unobtainable as   they've   never  held  a   political  position  before.

Gov.  Arnold  Schwarzeneggar  seeks  to  get reelected  to  a  second  term  in  office  promising  to  fulfill  his  agenda  and  promising    to  finish  the  task  that  he  first  set  out   to  do,  from  his  first  term  in  office.   While  his  popularity    has  been  somewhat    on  the    decline ,   Shwarzeneggar   though  will  use  all    his  political  savvy   to  campaign   earnestly    throughout    the   state.

One  of  the  more  colorful  candidates    running for  office   and  that  of  governor ,  is  adult  entertainment    star    Mary  Carey.    Carey   has let  it  be  known  that  it  is    her   intent  to  run  for  the  office    and  campaign  on  the  issues   that   she  feels   the  state's  citizens   feels  are  important  to  them.  Amongst  those     issues   are   everyone's   pet    peeve  the  environment  and global  warming.

Having  already  sought   the  office  once  before   when everyone  admittedly  saw it  for  it  was  just  another  pubicity  stunt.  Carey  this  time  however  is  intently  serious  in  campaigning  for  the  state's    highest  political   office.  Her  platform  of  issues    on  which  she  intends    to  campaign  are    the environment and  global  warming, education, immigration  policy, law & order and    above  all  balancing    the  budget.    Many  view    her    political  act  as  just  another   novelty    that's   beginning  to  wear  thin   on  the   Californian  citizens'   psyche.  Carey    sees  it  as  the  opposite ,  as   it   provides  them  with  more  of  a  choice.  Rather   than   choosing   from  the  usual   acute   number  of  candidates  that  look  and  sound  the same.  On    the  campaign    trail  she  might  even  be joined  by  a  number  of  her    own   professional   friends    who  are  like  minded   in  their  political  beliefs  who'll  campaign  on  her  behalf.

Some   of  those  in  question  may include  Brianna  Banks  ,  Tera  Patrick, Janet   Jacme  and    Jenna  Jameson.   If   nothing else  it  may  bring  out  the  male  populace  in  large  throngs.

Tera   Patrick  another  of  Carey'  friends  who  may  also   hit  the  trail  at her  friend's  side.

The   ebony  beauty   Janet  Jacme  fiercely independent  strives  to be  the best,  and  that  is  ti  be    the  most  prominently  known  African  American  female in  the  industry. However  she  shares  the  views  of  her  counterpart  Carey.

Ever   endearing   Jameson    the  reigning  queen  of the  adult  entertainment  world  as always  creates    excitement wherever   she  goes.  So one   can   imagine  the turmoil  that  will  be  created  once  she  hits  the  campaign    trail  with her  friend. 

It   was  said   that    Arnold  Palmer  had  army  of  fans  when  he  was  battling  Jack  Nicklaus   at the  height   of  their  rivalry,  as  they   were  known  as  "Arnie's   Army ". Schwarzeneggar will  no  doubt  rely  on  his  high profile  and  having  been  in  office  as  governor  he'll  be at  a  distinct  advantage.

For  Carey  however  it  will  be  about  campaigning  long    and  hard  to  get  her  message  across   to  the  electorate.   And  with  her  cast  of  friends   it  may  make  the  task    somewhat   easier,  especially  with  their  talents.

It's  been  widely   reported    this morning     that    Cowboys'  wide  receiver  Terrell  Owens  was  admitted to  a  Dallas  hospital  last  night  with  was  thought  to  have  been  a  suicide  attempt.   Owens   had   been   under  a  prescription  medication  to  fight  the  pain  for a  fractured   right  hand.   Details    concerning    the  incident  are    said  to  be  sketchy   and  the   Dallas   Police  Dept, are   not   treating   the   incident  as  a  criminal  act .

A  first  responder  who  was    at  the  scene   in  his   capacity  as  a medic  has  stated  that  Owens  himself   admitted  that this had been  a  suicide  attempt , when  questioning   the  football  star    as  to  what   medications  he  had  taken.  He   was   admitted  to a   Dallas    hospital   where  he's    said    to  be  in a  stable  condition.   That  hospital  where   he  was  admitted   is   Baylor  University  Hospital  ,  which  by  now    must  be  under   siege    by  the  press.

Where    this  leaves  Owens'    immediate  future   with the   Cowboys  is  open  to  question  but   one  thing  is  assured    that    this  one  incident  alone   has  put  a  serious    dent  in    the  Dallas  Cowboys'  ambition   to  win  the  Superbowl.  Coach  Bill  Parcells  must  feel  vindicated  in  his   belief    that   although  taking  Owens    was    a  risk  ,  as  it  was  bound  to  have  its  problems.  But  nothing  like  this   had    been  envisaged.   Dallas  Cowboys'  owner   Jerry  Jones    must   be  wishing   that    he  could  retrace  his  steps    and    see    where   he  might  have   dropped  the  ball   in  signing   Terrell  Owens.   In    the  second   year  of    three  year  $25 m    contract  of   which    $15m    was  guaranteed     this  situation  could  either  lead  to  an  acrimonious  paritng  of  the  ways   between    Owens  and  the  Cowboys  or  a  period    where   things  are   put  to  rest  and    the   organization  starts  all  over  again.  That's    nothing   something   that appears  to  be  on  Parcells'  agenda    as it  was  widely    believed    to  be  his  last  year  in  Dallas

One  would    doubt  that  he would   want  to  remain  in  Dallas  to  deal  with  Owens  and    another  impending  incident.  Jones  on the  other hand    knows  that  Parcells    might  be  only  person   around  that  coud  deal  with  Owens  and  his  antics    and  still  coach   the    Cowboys  to  success. 

Say  what  you  will  but  this  has been  an  interesting  start    to  the season  for  all  those  involved   with  the  Cowboys'  organization. 

(  It has  since been  reported   that  Owens  has  been  allowed  to leave  the   hospital  after   having  been  cleared  to  leave  by  the   medical    staff  on  duty )
