Another Day in my Sports Jersey Curse. Today: BECKHAM

Thursday, March 13, 2008, 05:14 AM EST [UEFA Cup]

Could this be true, is David Beckham packing it up and leaving town after one season?

If so, I've had sneezes that have lasted longer than that. Way to stick around Becks.

I am a Beckham fan. Not because of his cologne, tabloid headlines or his commercials, I think, for what he is, he's great at what he does (cross kicks, corner kicks, penalties) and I don't buy into any of his massive hype.

However, is he a quitter? Where is he going to go? Manchester United? No, don't, they throw sneakers at your head. Spain? Nah, you won for REAL MADRID, but they've moved on. Where else will you get that insane Los Angeles Galaxy contract?

Also, I take the blame for this, I was given a David Beckham jersey last summer. If he goes home, I'll take the hit.

By the way Becks, I read your book. It was weak. If you want to read a great soccer book, check out PELE "My life and the beautiful game" that book will inspire the heck out of you.

One more thing Becks, in 2010, Philly gets it's own MLS team, and if they're still throwing sneakers at you by then in England, we'll take you.

Victoria and David Beckham haven't been in the United States for a full year yet, but rumors that the couple and their kids might be heading back across the pond to their native England are heating up.

David's first season with the L.A. Galaxy - the team that has him under a mind-boggling $250 million, five-year contract - was a massive disappointment thanks to injuries that kept him sidelined during many games. Plus, there are reports that his whole family is in the U.K., and he wants to be closer to them. "He'd be very happy if someone would buy out his Galaxy contract," a source told
