A Texas boy who won the Cotton Bowl and Sugar Bowl at TCU where he not only was an All-American but the early practitioner of the West Coast Offense.he came into the NFL in 1937 most of us were not even born ,yet true sports fans, coaches and old beat writers will tell you he revolutionized pro football with the use of the forward pass.

Not only did this dude play QB, but as a defensive back he was a stud making him the best all-around player in his era and argueably of all-time.

In 1943, he led the league in passing, punting and defensive interceptions."SLINGIN' SAMMY" led the REDSKINS  to the NFL  titles in 1937 and again in 1942.
