[Tennis]
I don't remember if tennis fans remember the 80s but Jimmy Conners,John McEnroe, these guys would blow a fuse all the time on the tour, and it wasn't a big deal.Serena Williams does it and there fining her saying theres no place in tennis for it,but come on it was fine in he 80s so what changed. You know what changed she is a woman, and a black person.Blacks entertainers always draw more attention for there misdeeds, Roger Federer cursed out an official and nothing was said ,he did this 48 hours after Serena s tirade, and I dont hear the talk of fining him.You have Serena apoligizing over nd over again,Federer haven't heard him apoligize once, they are both wrong, it doesnt matter the color or gender wrong is wrong, they should all be treated the same, unless punches are thrown then more drastic measures should be taken. This is so blatant that anyone kid could see it for what it is
I think the issue is that Serena threatened bodily harm directly at the line judge. Though I don't back down from a threat easily, I'm not real big (like the line judge) and I know I would have been sort of scared if well-muscled, large Serena would have threatened to shove the ball down my throat and was shaking the racquet at me - wouldn't matter what color she was. Some people say she said "I'll kill you". I don't know about that though. Anyways, I don't think those other tennis players you mentioned directly threatened bodily harm.
You possibly could be right though I don't really think so.
idle threat, basically all people arent judged the same ,Federer,Roddick they act out wheres the fine, hell we talk about Kanye West more than Joe Wilson who is our leader he dissed thepresident and were over that no biggie
There is a double standard, get over it. Serena Williams is a lot more frightening than John McEnroe or Jimmy Connors. The thing to do is let it pass, besides we're talkin bout tennis! It is easier to slam Serena than to consider "The foot fault conspiracy". Or maybe Serena really hates to lose. The story should not have legs. Either way it's all laughable.
I totally disagree with WHY there is a case of prejudice here. That you are a Black man I am sure your perspective is usually from that point of view, seeing those injustices.
I am not black, but I am fat. I am totally convinced that she is being discriminated against not because she is black, or a woman, but because she is fat. People don't like fat people, and when I walk down the street there are always snide comments, rude gestures, and off color "butt" jokes. It is a shame we live in a society where people can't eat to their hearts content, or explosion, whichever comes first, but that's the way it is. And who is blogging for fat peoples rights? Noone, thats who. We are the one minority it is still politically correct to make fun of, and that's the truth. Well, fat people and white male republicans, but they don't count.
It's true; If Connors or McEnroe were fat I am sure that much more would have been made of their outbursts. Instead of being in Adam Sandler comedies they would be cast in ax murder cannabalistic horror stories I am sure.
Then again, maybe it's just not cool to tell people you're goin to rip their heads off and poop down their neck... no, darn it, it's cuz she's fat; that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
