At first glance, this really looks like a bad idea. Then it hit me like a bad three pointer bouncing off the backboard...if we get Webber, we would finally look like a real NBA team! Baron Davis, Monta Ellis, Steven Jackson, Chris Webber, and Andris Beidrins.
Four players on the court that can do really well in the half court set when the game slows down and that can go man-to-man against their defender. The problem with the dubs is that they have trouble with the zone defense. That was evident last night against the Knicks. With Chris Webber on the team, they don't have to worry about the zone because he can pass out of it even when they double team him. We don't Webber to score because we have enough scorers on the team. The problem with Andris Beidrins is he gets no help whats so ever. Al Harrington is allergic to rebounds but when he's on fire, its kind of hard to remove him from the floor; That and inconsistent play. With Chris Webber, you know your getting help on the glass and some good passes here and there. Other than Monta Ellis and Boom Dizzle, theres no one who can shoot the mid range jumper. If Webber can get his shooting touch back, then that would a huge plus IMHO.
Plus, he can teach some of our younger bigs the fundamentals of being a big player in the NBA. As a basketball fan, even I can see the positives of signing Chris Webber out weighs the negative. The one big negative is that he might ruin Jason Richardson return to Oakland on Friday.
Anyway, heres a motivational song for C-Webb as he returns to the Dubs!
