Drinking-driving, Englishmen-soccer, Sodium Thiopental-Potassium Chloride, Pacquiao-Diaz: What do these all have in common? Lethal Combination. That is the headline of the June 28th showdown between the WBC Lightweight Champion of the World David Diaz, and the current Super Featherweight Champion of the world, Manny Pacquiao-an appropriate name indeed. By the hand of Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, these two champions will face off in what the Diaz camp predicts to be "...one of the best fights of the year, if not the decade." In fact, Diaz' trainer Jim Strickland said,
"It wouldn't matter what's on the line, the fans will leave the arena thinking they saw the best fight of the year." Regardless, there is plenty on the line; Pacquiao looks to become the first boxer to ever hold a championship belt at four different weight classes. He also looks to hold on to his spot as the #1 boxer, pound-for-pound, that he assumed after Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s sudden retirement.
