This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful that I'm having a good season making NFL picks. After posting a 10-5-1 record against the spread last week, I'm now 90-81-5 for the year-and anything over .500 against the spread is a good record. So we'll go with nothing but NFL picks this week, with a side of gravy. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thursday games
Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions (12:30 p.m.)
[Cue announcer voice] In a world where opposites never attract...two very different football teams meet on the gridiron...for the ultimate holiday showdown. The 10-1 Titans. The 0-11 Lions. Prepare yourself this Thanksgiving for...Indigestion in Motown!
Pick: Tennessee (-11)
Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys (4:15 p.m.)
Everyone keeps talking about making sure the Lions don't play on Thanksgiving anymore, but can we find a way to keep the rest of the league's crappy teams off of the television on the holiday as well? The Seahawks? This year? Really?
Pick: Dallas (-12)
Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles (8:15 p.m.)
Donovan McNabb: "I've never been a part of a tie. I never even knew that was in the rule book...I hate to see what would happen in the Super Bowl and in the playoffs." McNabb also said this week that he no idea that NFL games were played on Thanksgiving, that the NFL Network existed, that 13 items made up a baker's dozen, that Philadelphia's Liberty Bell had a crack in it, or that he could be replaced as the Eagles' starting quarterback.
Pick: Arizona (+3)
Sunday games
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
No one on the Bengals has been arrested in a while. Of course I might have just jinxed it.
Pick: Baltimore (-7)
Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers
The forecast for Green Bay on Sunday: 33 degrees with snow showers possible. Sounds like football weather.
Pick: Carolina (+3)
Indianapolis Colts at Cleveland Browns
The Colts could very easily be 1-9 this season and are instead 7-4. The Browns, who were the trendy pick to go deep into the playoffs, are 4-7, and I'm not sure how they won those four games.
Pick: Indianapolis (-4
