As per TSN's Darren Dreger (via Twitter):
"NHL Oly(mpic) trade freeze. 12 midnight Friday, Feb. 12th (Saturday morning). Ends 12 midnight Sunday Feb 28th (Sunday morning)."
That leaves NHL teams approximately six weeks from now until 11.59 pm on February 12 2010 to make trades, and then only four days following the end of the freeze up to the March 3rd trade deadline.
Don't be surprised if we see considerable trade activity in the final seven-ten days leading up to the Olympic freeze period, followed by a mad scramble in those four days from the end of the freeze to the trade deadline.
