The Celtics 19 game-winning streak came to an end on Christmas day by little fault of their own. Tim Donnahie would have been proud of the officiating crew for choosing before the game started to end the Celtic streak right then. The Lakers just did not wan to keep all the confetti up in the rafters anymore, so they paid off the crew so they could use it to celebrate a midseason win in the last week of December. Last time I checked Lakers fans, I would rather be winning in June then December, and how did the finals go again? Oh right, you lost by 39 points of the elimination game of the series. So Pau Gasol can just calm down for a minute because its one thing to have a great game on Christmas day, but when your team is facing elimination in the NBA finals? No big deal, just sit back, relax and let everyone else try and pick up the slack.
It was one of, if not the most poorly officiated game I have ever seen. The league would be foolish to not review this game due to lack of officiating. I mean honesty; the Celtics had over 40 points in the paint and only eight free throws? Doesn't that sort of interior domination result in more free throws and less offensive fouls when going up for lay-ups (which Rondo was called for early in the fourth quarter). We know officials cheat, but never have I felt more cheated out of a win, and at what an inopportune moment for history. Sigh. Guess Vegas cares more about the Lakers then the Celtics.
