    Tribune Agrees To Sell Team, Stadium, Part of Cable Co to Schmuck

    Things that make me go BLECH!

    Today, the Tribune Company, agreed to sell the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field and a chunk of the regional cable franchise to...we have no idea! (Pending MLB's rubber stamp)

    Last year, a white knight showed up, offering buckets of money and a bright future for the Cubs. His name was Mark Cuban, who we know as the vocal owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Cuban's mantra is: "What can I do to help the team win?" Way to go Tribune Company.

    You've guaranteed the fans a mediocre future, since you sold to a money dude, not a sports fan interested in WINNING. Bring the goat onto the field now and excercise the Ghost-Of-Bartman.

    ***a day later:

    The Cubs are being purchased by a new money family.  The Ricketts Family Trust will own the Cub(bies!).  Multiple news sources indicate that the leader of the clan, Tom, is a big Cubs fan.  This Husker transplant had better serve the fans or be prepared to be Bartmanized by the public.

    Can you imagine day 1 of Cuban in Chicago politics??

    I shudder to even think about it. He would have people all up in Chicago politics and Chicago would have people all up in Cuban's business. Thousands of people in jail by week 2 lol.

    Cuban was too good for the Cubs. I personally think it would be a bad purchase for him. No way he could make it more profitable that it is now without building a new stadium and that will be prevented by Chicago politics for as long as humanly possible. I am willing to bet this purchase requires no new stadium for 20-years.

    Cuban would have been great, say what you will the guy has passion. But if the cubs started winning hell would freeze over. Speaking of midgets........

    Winning would ruin the Cubbies. If they win, then people would not have to go to the games. Right now, people watch the Cubs just in case they win and they can say that they saw them when they finally won it all! Once it happens, their just another team. Look at the White Sox. Who cares about them anymore?

    The same philosophy can be used on my Padres and Chargers.

    IT's a tough call Husker. A Midget I know wants to be called a Midget. She says that when people use the term "little people" that everyone thinks of little kids and it burns her.

    She has a point. You go around talking about little people all the time and you're going to be labeled a pedophile. Bet on it.
