The Buckeyes entered this contest as underdogs for only the 2nd time this season. Penn State was looking to put back to back losses on Ohio State with a signature win in Beaver Stadium. On the Ohio State sidelines Terrell Pryor was looking to regain his mojo after a demoralizing performance last year against the Nittany Lions in the Shoe. It was a typical big game between these two rival programs.
The defense, Pryor, in fact, the entire team stepped up and played their best game of the 2009 season stunning the favored Lions by a score of 24-7.
So, how did the Buckeyes grade out in week 10:
Offensive Line: The offensive line played their best game of 2009. There was the occassional lapse and the line did not dominate but they held their own against a very good Nittany Lion defense. Run blocking was good with the Buckeyes gaining more than 200 yards on the ground. The O line made the difference. Grade B plus
Running Backs: Brandon Seine and Boom Herron combined for a total of 126 yards on 36 carries behind an improved O line. Pryor added another 50. Consistent throughout the Buckeye running game turned in this years best perfomance as well against a first class Penn State defense. Grade: A minus
Quarterback: Terrell Pryor had a signature game in his matchup with Daryll Clark. He was poised and made excellent decisions throughout the game. Stats were not that impressive but his leadership made this his best game of 2009. Grade: A
Receivers:Posey caught a long TD pass that broke the back of Penn State. Overall the Buckeyes were focused on ball control which meant run and then run some more. Grade: B
Defensive Line: The defensive line was awesome. Cameron Heyward was particularly dominate running over and around the Penn State offensive line. Outstanding. Grade: A plus
Linebackers: Linebacker play was good as well in a supporting role to the D line. Grade: B plus
Defensive backs: D backs played tight on the line and stifled the Penn State receivers. Grade: A
Special teams: Ray Small had a great game with two long punt returns. Grade: A minus
Overall Team: This was a signature game for the Buckeyes entering a very hostile environment against the 11th rank Nittany Lions. They delivered a convincing victory winning both the offensive and defense battles. Grade: A
Next week: Iowa

Hey Dad!
CU-Tigers-28You know, when we lived in Marietta the closest D1 school was Georgia Tech, which would mean we lived in ACC country, not SEC country.
I believe this warrants a profile change.
Our recent success has the prognosticators matching us up against an at-large bid. Maybe if OSU flops against Iowa we can and we raid the soccer team for a kicker by next week we can meet in a BCS bowl. Your buying the tickets.
