Big Ten Predictions Week 10 (UPDATED)

Tuesday, October 28, 2008, 12:55 PM EST [Iowa]

Here it is. Week ten. After the mega showdown between Penn State and Ohio State. The dust is settling and both teams are on a bye week. This comes at the most perfect time for both teams. This week's picks will be tougher than last week's and I did shit ass job of getting things right. From a technical standpoint I should have been close to perfect last week with my only bad pick being PSU/OSU but some teams decided to step up and other teams decided to be a complete letdown. Oh, well no homer picks to clog my vision this week. On to the predictions.

    Central Michigan @ Indiana

Indiana slugged it out last week and came up with a surprising win over Northwestern. So this leaves us with the question of what kind of team is Indiana? Are they the team that comes out and is able to go toe to toe with their opponents? Are they the team that folds after getting hit in the mouth? I really don't know what team we are going to get this Saturday.

Notable Quote- "Especially for the young guys, it's easier to lose confidence. This is a big confidence builder for everybody, and you can do so much with confidence. You can play your best games with a lot of confidence, and if we continue to play confident and practice confident and go through every game, I think we'll be alright." -- DE Jammie Kirlew on what IU's win over Northwestern means to the team in terms of building confidence. Actually not a bad quote at all.

Central Michigan is #1 in the MAC and is definitely no slouch. They play some tough teams but they don't play against them well. Look at how they did against Georgia and Purdue. This is another Big Ten team they are facing but not the top of the Big Ten. Although as of right now I would say Indiana is better than Purdue. Tough choice.

Notable Quote- "I think it's a tribute to our great coaching staff pushing us in the off-season and during practices. They don't let up much. We have great mental focus. I think it starts in the off-season because you can't build a championship team in the fall." -- Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour discussing the team's ability to close out games late. It's tough to make fun of quotes that make sense.

CMU 25 Indiana 27         Actual Score: CMU 37 Indiana 34

Good gracious Indiana. How bad do you guys suck? If you can't beat a MAC team don't expect to win again for the rest of the freaking season. Yep I just checked the rest of you're schedule and you're fucked. Even Purdue as bad as they are will beat you. Yeah, I'm pissed.

    Michigan @ Purdue

Michigan got beat up by it's baby brother last week. How will they do against a craptastic Purdue team? Michigan is considered the favorite in this game but I just don't see how. They do have a good defense but their offense is just abysmal. Among this game is the distraction of yet more Michigan recruits decommiting. The latest decommitments include kicker Anthony Fera, defensive lineman William Campbell, wide receiver Bryce McNeal and quarterback Kevin Newsome. Not only have the Wolverines been losing recruits but the Michigan State Spartans have out recruited the Wolverines in Michigan by a large margin. The Spartans have landed 6 of the top ten recruits in Michigan, Ohio State has one and 3 are undecided. This does not bode well for Michigan.

Notable Quote- "This one stings a little deeper than usual. You really want to win this game, especially the way the season has gone." -- LB Obi Ezeh, to the Ann Arbor News. Blah Blah Blah, if this one stings think about the next few weeks of getting beat by Minnesota, Northwestern and Ohio State. That is going to really sting.

Purdue has really turned into a garbage team. The only thing making this a tough choice is how crappy Michigan is this year. If Michigan was even half way decent this would be an easy choice but of course that is not the case. I can't say it enough but Purdue is about to become the perennial doormat of the Big Ten. I can't believe Purdue wouldn't go out and try to pick up a big name coach rather than plug in a coach who doesn't like to recruit. It's tough to pick against Michigan even when they are terrible but in this case Purdue is even terribler (yeah, I made that word up, go ahead and use it if you like it).

Notable Quote- "This isn't what I had in mind." -- Joe Tiller, on how his final season at Purdue is playing out. Yeah, like you really give a fuck about this season. All I keep hearing about is your house in Wyoming.

Michigan 17 Purdue 14       Actual Score: Michigan 42 Purdue 48

Michigan LOL. The joke of the Big Ten. You let Purdue put up 48 freaking points when Penn State, Ohio State and Minnesota held them to 15 points total. What the fuck is wrong with this program. This was the last game I thought you had a chance of winning. From here on out you lose the rest. Welcome to 2-10 lame asses. Purdue I'm not going to say anything good about you guys either because woopdie doo you beat Michigan but they still scored 42 damn points on your ass. This really came down to guessing which team is crappier and Michigan won that fight.

    Wisconsin @ Michigan State

Wisconsin finally got back to their old selves sorta with a win over Illinois last week but I just don't see them winning this week. Wisconsin will get themselves into a bowl game at the end of the year but this team has a lot of work to do. This week they just need to save face and keep this game close.

Notable Quote- "This whole week was focused on stopping Juice, and we went out there and we showed that we've been working on it." -- Wisconsin senior CB Allen Langford, who had one of the Badgers' three interceptions of Illini QB Juice Williams. That's nice and this week you have probably been practicing stopping Ringer. Well guess what. If you stop Ringer you still have Hoyer to deal with.

Michigan State looks to have shed their old identity of winning early and then just losing the rest. Yes, they were beat by Ohio State but they came right back and beat their arch rival Michigan. So when does the little brother become the big brother? When little brother makes a bowl game and you don't. When little brother is out recruiting you in a state you owned for 100+ years. That's when little brother makes you their bitch.

Notable Quote- "Little Sis-ter! Little Sis-ter!" -- Michigan State fans, chanting to Michigan players inside Michigan Stadium. It was in direct reference to former U-M tailback Mike Hart saying Michigan State was the "little brother" to the Wolverines last season. Hey, Mike Hart how you doing in the NFL?

Wisconsin 21 Michigan State 24        Actual Score: Wisconsin 24 Michigan State 25

Well this was the only one I got right and I knew it would be a tough close game but damn come on. Wisconsin seems to be getting back to what they were before their meltdown and Michigan State is continuing to show that they are no longer the Sparty of old by not melting down in the second half of the season. A little to close for comfort though jerkoffs.

    Northwestern @ Minnesota

Northwestern dropped the soap when they went to Indiana and took one right in the butt. No other way to put it. They were way better than them on paper. Maybe they were overlooking them and looking towards Minnesota? I don't know. I do know they better show up this weekend and not be looking forward to the Ohio State game otherwise they are going to get smoked. Well to be honest I don't think Northwestern will win this one either.

Notable Quote- "It's disappointing. I don't think we came to play. We got exactly what we deserved." -- Northwestern senior WR and co-captain Eric Peterman in the Chicago Tribune. You didn't come to play? Then why the fuck did you show up in the first place? Get out of my face stupid.

Minnesota is looking more like a contender rather than a cinderella story. The only loss they have is to Ohio State but to be honest it wasn't as close as the score shows. That being said Northwestern is not Ohio State but they are decent. I think this one boils down to defense much the same as the PSU/OSU game did. First team to make a mistake will lose. That will not be Minnesota. The cinderella season continues.

Notable Quote- "It is just huge and they are doing it time, after time, after time. I just can't tell you what it means to us. Obviously we are struggling on offense at times, sputtering at times and our defense kept trying to give us opportunities to do good things." -- coach Tim Brewster, on the 24 forced turnovers that lead the nation. Win the turnover battle and you should always win the game.

Northwestern 27 Minnesota 30       Actual Score: Northwestern 24 Minnesota 17

Well WTF Minnesota. You just got beat by a team that got beat by Indiana. So I take it these guys really aren't for real and when bowl time comes we get to watch you guys lose. Northwestern where the fuck was this team against Indiana. The play from your team is so inconsistent it like watching, aww fuck it I don't know what its like watching but I hate it. I want some damn consistency.

    Iowa @ Illinois

Iowa is coming off a bye week and that usually means a win for any team coming off a bye. Most teams don't have to face Illinois coming off a bye week though. Although Iowa was probably watching the game between Illinois and Wisconsin and finding out how to beat them. This is good news for Iowa and when they play mistake free they win games. Look for another mistake free game from Iowa as they lay it down on Illinois.

Notable Quote- "It's at a perfect time. We don't have much left right now, and we've been kind of putting that out in front of our guys. Schedule makers make the schedule, but we had an eight-week block, and we'll catch our breath right now. We've got guys nicked up, so it will give us a chance to get rested up here a little bit." -- coach Kirk Ferentz, on the bye week. Knowing how to use your bye week is as important as knowing how to win games.

Illinois your kryptonite has been discovered. You don't have a dominant running back that can keep defenses honest. Everyone will be gunning to stop Juice and nothing else. Without having the great running back that all teams have you have become one dimensional and when that's taken away you lose. It's been proven all season. It seems as though Zook has brought Illinois as high as it can go but needs to do more in recruiting in order to reach the next level. Not going to happen.

Notable Quote- "We're going to go how our quarterback goes. Unfortunately for him, you throw three picks and two of the picks you had the guy wide open ... and we didn't execute the pitch and catch." -- Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley discussing QB Juice Williams in the Daily Herald. Unfortunatly, all defenses from here on out are going to go how your QB goes. He will be the man they key on as you have no other weapons.

Iowa 35 Illinois 31          Actual Score: Iowa 24 Illinois 27

Haha, jokes on me. Thanks Iowa you ass clowns. I started to buy into your bullshit and you do this to me? Damn that's messed up. Illinois you're still not that good. That's all I can really say about these two teams is you just never know what your gonna get.

And so goes another week in the Big Ten. This begs the question. Who will you choose? McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden? No, I don't really give a shit who you choose. Fuck, I don't even care if you vote that's what makes America great. We are free enough to do whatever the fuck we feel like.

Just a few gifs that make me laugh my ass off. Yeah I would have one of Obama up there but it was just in bad taste so I didn't put it up. Oh yeah, 53-15 woot woot!

Well, as you can see I am pretty pissed off. It seems like all the Big Ten teams just don't have any consistency. You call it parity I call it bullshit. You're either good or your not good. Lovely I went 1-4 this weekend. At least this week we get Penn State and OSU back so I will be guaranteed 2 correct picks. Teams that at least know how to be consistent. 54-19 FUCK!!!!

Big Ten Predictions Week 9 (UPDATED)

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 12:39 PM EST [General]

Well, here we are again. Sitting in front of our computers wondering what will be spewed forth by Seabass. Hell, even I am wondering what idiotic nonsense will come forth from me. Well, first I want to jinks myself by saying this Satuday should be very cut and dry with easy picks abound with the exception of one game. Don't ask me what game that is because if you don't know then your stupid. That seems like a good enough prelude. On to the predictions!!!

    Illinois @ Wisconsin

Illinois is fresh off a super hot win. Yeah, over Indiana woopie. Not to be harsh but Indiana is no where near the Indiana of last year. Illinois should be proud of the win but this should not turn into over-confidence. Matched up against a Wisconsin that has there backs to the wall this could be bad news for Illinois. We have seen how Illinois reacts to playing a physical team. They tend to fold their tents and head home with a loss. Minnesota proved that. If Illinois could be more physical on their front lines they could soon find themselves being considered one of the elite powers in the Big Ten. As of right now they are still just an upstart.

Notable Quote- "I guess they just forgot about me." -- WR Arrelious Benn's theory in the Daily Herald as to why he was able to catch seven passes for 130 yards, most of them while wide-open. There is no way anyone could forget about you Benn. Indiana just imploded on defense.

Wisconsin has now lost 4 in a row. After the Michigan loss the wheels fell of this wagon and now the horses are running wild. I don't know what the hell that means but this team is in dire straits. Everything is being flushed down the toilet. Gameplans, starting QB's are being switched, talk of students wanting the coach fired, and just in general a lot of turmoil. Coach B should have just stuck with his original starting QB, kept to his gameplan and tried to show no signs of being rattled. Well, it's to late for that. Wisconsin is a wounded sailor in the water with the sharks circling them. They could bounce back and gain some confidence with a win over Illinois but from what I have seen and the news I keep reading it just isn't going to happen.

Notable Quote- "We've just got to turn it around. Losing four games in a row is just not acceptable." -- Wisconsin junior quarterback Dustin Sherer in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Can I get a 55 gallon drum of DUH!!!

    Illinois 31 Wisconsin 21          Actual Score : Illinois 17 Wisconsin 27

I was wondering when the old Wisconsin would show up and I really thought it would be in one more week. It's good to see them playing decently but Illinois has never been a physical. Illinois is more finesse than anything else and in this case just couldn't get it done.

    Northwestern @ Indiana

Northwestern is white hot. Finally ranked in the top 25 in I don't know how many years. The team is playing well on both sides of the ball as evidenced in last week's win. Northwestern this week goes up against Indiana and the way IU has been playing this should be a layup for the Wildcats. No offense Hoosier fans. The only thing that worries me is that Northwesten's biggest win is against Iowa and that was when Iowa was struggling. Some of their other wins were against Syracuse, Duke, and well Purdue. Those teams are not so great but go ahead and add Indiana to that list.

Notable Quote- "The buzz here on campus, there's something special going on on campus." -- Northwestern coach (and alum) Pat Fitzgerald in the Chicago Tribune. What are you guys holding the International Special Olympics?

Indiana yeah um Indiana uhh uhh. Damn I got writer's block. Give me a few minutes I'll be back. I'm sorry I couldn't find anything good to write about you guys. So instead of being a jerk like I was last year to Minnesota I will just let you guys off the hook. If you guys can keep this game close I will come up with something nice next weekend. But I am still doing my notable quote. Your not getting off that easy.

Notable Quote- "I don't think that's fair at all. The players are the ones who are playing the game and the coaches are putting us in a position to make plays. It's just a matter of us making plays. We're out there playing. ... We need to go out there and play with more confidence. I don't think there's just one thing. I think it's a host of things." -- QB Ben Chappell on the criticisms that have been aimed at IU's football coaches in recent weeks. Well, obviously there is something wrong with this team.

    Northwestern 27 Indiana 9        Actual Score : Northwestern 19 Indiana 21

Well what can I say. I drank from the kool-aid and got poisoned. Bleh NW should have been able to easily handle a down and out Indiana but go figure they just kept letting IU hang around and eventually IU came up with the win.

    Minnesota @ Purdue

Minnesota is also looking really good this whole season. We can't say it enough they are the surprise team. Yes, they got manhandled by OSU but they have handled their business very well in every game. They are coming off a bye week and they should be prepared for Purdue. I mean hey any team that has two weeks to prepare for another team  should win. With a win over Purdue this week they will continue to move up in the top 25. This team is looking good on both sides of the ball but better yet in the turnover battle. Purdue likes to turn the ball over so this should be an easy win for Minnesota.

Notable Quote- "That was probably the funnest five minutes I've ever had to play in football. Nothing like it." -- DE Willie VanDeSteeg, to the Star Tribune, on the tumultuous ending to the Gophers' upset. Yeah, there is nothing more fun than almost losing in the closing minutes of a game. Are you mental?

Purdue well yeah you and Indiana are like twin brothers. The only difference is I don't think your head coach gives a shit what happens from here on out. He is just worried about his house being finished in Wyoming. This will be one of the darkest seasons in Purdue history. Good bye "cradle of quarterbacks".

Notable Quote- "If they don't have consistency at quarterback, and I'm being real consistent, I think they have to start looking at me for some answers and giving me the ball and let me carry the team, instead of keep putting it in Painter's hands." -- running back Kory Sheets. Hey, that's actually not a bad idea.

    Minnesota 37 Purdue 29        Actual Score : Minnesota 17 Purdue 6

Well, at least this kool-aid wasn't poinsoned. Minnesota came out and showed they can win the close ones. Purdue is going to just continue to slide down to the bottom of the Big Ten and will probably be there for a few years before they get their shit back together. Great win for Minnesota.

    Michigan State @ Michigan

Michigan State looked abysmal last week. To be honest with you I think the Spartans knew how big of a game that was and just came out really stiff. Well, with that big loss the monkey is off their back. They won't come out stiff. They already blew their chance to be Big Ten champions so the rest of the season they will play loose with no expectations placed on them other than going to a bowl game and they have already secured that. I see a big game out of MSU. Ringer will be pissed that he was held to sixty something yards and will run wild on Michigan.

Notable Quote- "Someone asked me before the game what my biggest fear was, and it was that they would click. Ohio State beat our tails in." -- defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, on OSU's Terrelle Pryor and Beanie Wells, who combined for 212 rushing yards. Really, that was your biggest fear? My biggest fear is that an asteroid will strike the earth before I finish this blog. Well, to each his own I guess.

Michigan played like Michigan for about 17 minutes last week. That just isn't going to cut it. Michigan might again have Sparty's number but I really don't think so. Sparty got exposed by OSU and I guarantee Dantonio will have his team ready. RR has proven week in and week out that he makes poor decisions during games. Those poor decisions were usually covered up in WV because of the talent level of his recruits. Yes, I said it. Michigan is lacking in talent but only in the sense for this style of program that RR is implementing. One other thing people don't realize is Coach Carr left the cupboards bare. He knew he didn't have anyone coming back in and what a perfect time to retire. He (Carr) has made himself look like a genius. If Carr really loved Michigan he would have helped RR bring in the recruits he needed to start off successfully. Instead he left and washed his hands of the program. In part you can thank the fans for Carr doing this. Towards the end of his career everyone wanted him gone and now a lot of people want him back. Lloyd Carr has achieved the ultimate victory. I wonder if Syracuse will treat Carr like Michigan did.

Notable Quote- "Heck, JoePa's had 43 years to build his program. He's done a darn good job. I've had nine months." -- coach Rich Rodriguez. Well, I guess this quote is better than Lou Holtz' on RR. LMAO.

Michigan State 23 Michigan 20         Actual Score : Michigan State 35 Michigan 21

This was the year to do it. For the little brother to kick his big brother's front teath in. From what I was watching it seemed to be a hard fought game but towards the end Michigan State just wanted it more. Gone are the days of starting off the season 4-0 only to end up 6-6. Michigan, well, there is always next year.

    Penn State @ Ohio State

Penn State just keeps on trucking. Their offense is at the top in many categories as is their defense. Will they show up flat like in the first half at Michigan or will they show up early like they did against Wisconsin. I don't think it will be either. This will be their toughest test of the season and it's an away game. This doesn't bode well for PSU. They are notoriously bad on the road in years past. I am looking for a reason for them to lose this game but I really don't see one. From top to bottom they are solid through and through. Well, I decided to take a closer look at the teams they have played. They are a combined 21-35 with only two teams having a winning record which is Illinois at 4-3 and Oregon State at 4-3(but with a win over USC). Thanks Malachyte. Hmm. Interesting.

Notable Quote- "You can run him between the tackles all game, and then all of a sudden, he'll break off a 50, 60, 70-yard run. It's just incredible." -- Penn State offensive guard Rich Ohrnberger, on tailback Evan Royster. I guess we will just have to see how he does against a good opponent.

Ohio State is coming off a monster win and hopefully won't let it go to their heads. OSU matches up really good against Penn State. The defense is clicking and holding down the running and passing game. Finally the coaches let the talent on the team play the way they want to. The real question is will they come out the same way against PSU or will they turtle up and play conservative. If that happens it's game over for OSU. If they let them spread their wings and fly like wild men it's all over for PSU. I have been trying to find a reason for OSU to win this game but the odds are really against them. The only thing in OSU's favor is that they are at home, it's a night game, Terrelle Pryor and Beanie Wells seem like they can just will games to be won, PSU hasn't won at the 'Shoe since joining the Big Ten, and OSU is the fly in the BCS ointment as usual. Wow, ultra tough decision. This game really depends on which two teams show up.

Notable Quote- "People don't know me and people don't know what I can do. Everyone thinks that I'm overrated -- wait and see. The time will come and you'll find out." -- Terrelle Pryor. This is a scary statement. Is he saying he is better than what he played last week?

Penn State 25 Ohio State 27          Actual Score : Penn State 13 Ohio State 6

If there was not better game on t.v. this weekend than these two teams smashing the shit out of each other. Some people get into the high scoring back and forth crap but not me. There is nothing better than watching two great defenses go toe to toe and see which one flinches. Well, technically neither defense flinched. It's hard to stop a team with momentum coming off of a fumble recovered at your on 30 yard line. This was the difference. I would have to say that the way both teams were playing if that fumble doesn't occur OSU wins. Obviously it did happen and still Terrelle Pryor and the Bucks almost went back down the field which would have tied it. Penn State should now go undefeated on the season but it won't be easy. I for oe will be cheering for Penn State to carry the Big Ten banner to the NCG and win it.

I am leaving the PSU/OSU game blank for now. I need to do more research. Well, I will come back for a better closing statement. Until then enjoy the music. If you don't like it just mute it. What can i say I am a metal head at heart. Hey, Nobody's perfect. We all have our Persian flaws. No, I am not Persian.

I consulted the Magic 8 Ball for the answer to the Penn State/Ohio State question.

    Q. Will Ohio State beat Penn State? A. Yes.

    Q. Will the score be Penn State 25 Ohio State 27? A. Yes.

Who can argue with the Magic 8 Ball? I sure as hell won't. There were a shitload of answers but only those 2 were relevent to the task at hand. Don't ask me what the other questions were. You will be scarred for life.

Ooops, I almost forgot to boast about going 6-0 last week. This puts my record at 51-12. I don't know how to do percentages but that looks like it would be pretty damn good.

Never again will I trust in the magic 8 ball. I should have gone with my gut and I would have ended the day at 3-2 but instead I ended with a terrible 2-3. Oh well fuck em if they can't take a joke. Whatever that means. Overall record of 53-15 still isn't too bad. Next week I will shoot to be perfect again. Sorry, I wasn't able to update right away it seems my health has taken a turn for the worse but I did see the doctor and I should be ok but I will just be extra tired for the next couple weeks. I hope the update turned out ok as I am drugged up prety good. Laters all. Go BIG TEN!

    CFB Playoff 2007 (Championship)

Sunday, October 19, 2008, 07:12 PM EST [General]

Well, the BCS standings are out and everyone is either complaining or defending which teams are where. So I thought wouldn't it be great to travel back to 2007 just at the end of the regular season but before the bowl games and implement a playoff. This playoff will be a 16 team playoff and is based on the BCS standings at the end of the 2007 but before any bowl games took place. It's the BCS rankings as of  Dec. 2, 2007. All teams have 13 days to prepare for the first team then it is every Saturday after that with one week off for the NCG.

    December, 15, 2007.

    #16 Tennessee  3 @ #1 Ohio State 47    Weather: Medium Precipitation, 30F, Wind None

    #15 Clemson 14 @ #2 LSU 34     Weather: Dome, 65F

#14 Boston College 10 @ #3 Virginia Tech 40     Weather: No Precipitation, 35F, Wind None

I will be including home field advantage and weather effects in the simulation. The weather will be based on the typical weather for the season and the region. Feel free to check over my teams and make sure everything looks right. I will update this post on Thursday the 23rd just before the Thursday night game.

Remember this is all simulation based and is all for fun. I will run the simulation once per team. None of that running it 100 times and taking the average. Each team has one shot and one shot only just like real life. Hope you guys enjoy and can't wait to hear the opinions.

Like I said before if anyone sees anything wrong or has a suggestion feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Ok I just added in the weather. I just used a random number generator for the precipitation, temperature and wind.

    December 22, 2007.

    #8 Kansas 17 @ #1 Ohio State 28    Weather: Precipitation Light, 20F, Wind Heavy

    #7 USC 19 @ #2 LSU  14   Weather: Dome, 65F

Well according to the sim one team would have stayed the same but one team would have been different. Although we did get the same conference.

    National Championship Game

    January 7, 2008.

    #5 Georgia 24 @ #1 Ohio State 16     Weather: Dome, 65F

Well, it looks like even ina simulation Ohio State can't beat an SEC team in a bowl game. Oh well, I hope everyone enjoyed what could be the greatest playoff system if they would ever implement it.

Thoughts on Buckeyes let out some frustration on Michigan St.

Sunday, October 19, 2008, 11:39 AM EST [College Football]

A response to Buckeyes let out some frustration on Michigan St.

Just wanted all the Buckeye fans to see this great article that was written. Some asshat at FoxSports decided it didn't need to be on the front page after it was only up for 4 hours. I actually had to do a search to re-find this article. We see complete evidence here that the media definately does not like OSU. These guys are being punished for the last two years and the loss to USC. Yet, they swing from the sack of USC and the SEC even when they lose to an unranked team.

Anyways fellow Buckeyes enjoy the article it is a really good piece.

Big Ten Predictions Week 8 (Updated)

Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 12:23 PM EST [General]

Ah yes. Here it is week 8. I do believe this is the week that the BCS implements their poll. After all the games get played we get to hear the grumbles and groans of CFB fans everywhere. With the parity all around CFB popping up week after week are upsets really upsets? It really is to look into a playoff system. I think at the end of the year I will create my own playoff system and see how it goes over. Who knows maybe I can sell it to the BCS and make millions of dollars. Yes, my American Dream may come true. To do nothing and get paid for it. Remember the notable quote is just something to poke fun at. So don't get all mad if you don't find it funny. On to the predictions!!!!!

    Wisconsin @ Iowa

Wisconsin got absolutely drummed last Saturday. I don't think there will be more of the same this week but jeez. Getting beat that badly makes this choice really tough. Does Wiscy lose 4 in a row to start Big Ten play? That would be unheard of. I wonder what practice has beeb and will be like for the rest of the week. It's funny people were saying they should fire Bielma. Those fans should be fired from being fans. BB is 21-6 since 2006 you morons.

Notable Quote-"Our quarterback has to play a lot better. Whoever that is going to be will be determined by our coaches ... what they see on film and during the week." -- Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema explaining in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Allan Evridge and Dustin Sherer will compete to start Saturday at Iowa. Really? Maybe the offensive line should play better so your QB can be better. Dur.

Iowa whooped the shit out of Indiana. No other way to put that. They came in and played mistake free and just piled it on them. I was actually surprised. Is this the Iowa that really is or is this the Iowa for one game? So many questions come up. Why couldn't you do this to Pitt, NW and MSU? Is Iowa really this good or did Indiana play that bad? With Wisconsin getting blown out and Iowa blowing out Indiana this really becomes a tossup for me.

Notable Quote- "I don't think anyone has been discouraged. We have been disappointed but not discouraged. We feel like we have a good football team and it is just a matter of us being a little more consistent." -- Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz. Huh? When was this quote taken? Didn't you just pound IU 45-9?

    Wisconsin 19 - Iowa 21                 Actual Score: Wisconsin 16 Iowa 38

Wow, from open to close Wisconsin got rocked. Looking at the score you would think that. Wisconsin actually had more first downs, more net yards gained and a time of possession of 5 more minutes than Iowa. This really boiled down to turnovers. Wisconsin had 3 Iowa had ZERO. That's exactly how you win games. Either way you slice it, it was an ass beating for the Badgers. They started off so promising and had even reached the top ten and then just have had an absolute implosion. Something needs to happen for Wisconsin and quick. Iowa has really turned things around for themselves by playing mostly mistake free football. Iowa can play with anybody when they don't turn the ball over.

    Purdue @ Northwestern

Purdue didn't look like Purdue against OSU. Then again OSU didn't look like OSU against Purdue. The Boilermakers stayed in that game based on their defense which they really aren't known for. Once again there is more talk about the coach retiring rather than what the team is doing. No one at Purdure (other than fans and players) care if they win because they all know it's all about next year after the HC retires. I feel bad for the players because you can see they want to win but it just doesn't look like the coach does. The coach has been quoted as saying he is retiring because kids these days just don't want to give it their all. I got news for you coach. It doesn't look like you are giving your all either.

Notable Quote- "I thought they were strong enough physically with their speed on the outside that they were going to score against us. We were hoping maybe it would be one or two scores, but to have none is pretty amazing." -- Purdue coach Joe Tiller after his team didn't allow an offensive touchdown to Ohio State. Umm, they scored three times dumbass. Yeah, they weren't touchdowns but you still lost.

Northwestern has played solid so far this year except the MSU game. Nothing wrong with that MSU is just better than NW. The good news is NW is way better than Purdue. Then again it really just depends on what team shows up on Saturday. NW has had close wins they have had big wins and now they got their first taste of defeat. It wasn't a close defeat either but it wasn't a blowout. They didn't like that taste they got and they should be ready for Purdue.

Notable Quote- "If you were to tell me we'd hold Javon Ringer to 3.5 yards per carry, I'd be pretty excited by that output by our defense." -- Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald in the Daily Herald after Michigan State's Javon Ringer rushed 35 times for 124 yards and two scores. Ringer's longest run was just 13 yards. Who cares he still scored two TD's and ran for over a hundred yards and you lost.

Purdue 23 Northwestern 27            Actual Score: Purdue 26 Northwestern 48

Another score that was way off but the right outcome. Northwestern just grabbed Purdue by the throat and choke slammed them into the dirt. I understand Purdue is having their coach retire but the guy that is taking over is on the sidelines right there. One thing Purdue fans should be afraid of is your new coach has said he doesn't like recruiting. Well if you don't like recrruiting you better get the fuck out of CFB. It will be a long time before Purdue ever becomes something again. You can kiss your "cradle of quarterbacks" goodbye if you don't get out there and recruit. Northwestern had there one bad game against a very good MSU but turned right back around and smoked another team. They need to keep this going.

    Ohio State @ Michigan State

Ohio State I was really torn about the win last weekend. Yes we won but we didn't score. The offense looked horrendous and like I have been saying you guys are getting by on talent. Well, now you are going to East Lansing to a team that might be just slightly less talented but has way better playcalling. Not only that but the head coach at MSU knows exactly how your defense work because he was the DC when you guys WON the NCG. I fear the worst for this Buckeye team this weekend. OSU played Purdue the same way they played Ohio just before they went and got beatdown by USC. That being said, how can I pick against and OSU team that always finds ways to win against the odds.

Notable Quote- "There was a moment where we looked good, and there was a moment where we went backwards and were not consistent at all. We certainly didn't control the line of scrimmage, and that's where it starts." -- Coach Jim Tressel, after the win over Purdue. Actually I just think it was your shitty play calling Jim.

Michigan State is looking like the team they should have always been. They got the right man at the right time and that is Dantonio. I wish he was still at OSU because we would be 3-0 in NCG games. Yes, he is that good of a coach. Look at what he has done at MSU in a short amount of time. Also he always gets the most out of his players even if they aren't the best. There really is no reason that MSU shouldn't win this game. They are at home. They are better on offense than OSU but a little worse than OSU on defense. Although you don't have to be good on defense to stop OSU's craptastic playcalling.

Notable Quote- "It's a good feeling. But last year, 6-6 teams didn't get in (bowl games), so we have to keep going." -- Coach Mark Dantonio, on his 6-1 Spartans. Dude, your not going to end the season 6-6 LOL.

Ohio State 20 Michigan State 19        Actual Score: Ohio State 45 Michigan State 7

Ok I am not going to gloat I am just going to say it the way it was. This was just a good old fashioned ass whooping. There is no other way to cut it. From the start to the finish it was all Buckeyes all the time. MSU didn't have luck, the gods or anything on their side in this one. You want proof the football gods were with OSU? How about a sack that caused a fumble in which the ball pops up onto the sacked qb's ass and sits there like a snack sitting on the counter waiting for a big ass defensive lineman to pick it up. Then this huge rumbling guy runs I don't know how many yards for a touchdown. What MSU needs to do is not even watch the tape. Just bury it and pretend this game never happened. That's all you can do. The same goes for OSU. Bury this tape and pretend it never happened. Never let this kind of success get to your head.

    Michigan @ Penn State

Michigan really nothing positive to say about you. Just don't embarrass yourselves to much on Saturday. Oh wait you can't because you only play Toledo once this year. SON OF A BITCH RR pull your head out of your ass and at least put in a couple plays from the old playbook that people know. Just three that's all I'm asking. Oh, shit I didn't know you couldn't hear. Since when are you deaf? Nothing worse than a coach who plugs his ears and does the lalalala I'm not listening to anyone.

Notable Quote- "We've gotta hang in there, get back to work, but this will hurt for 24 hours for sure. We've gotta make sure it doesn't hurt longer than that because we've got a top-10 team coming up next week." -- Coach Rich Rodriguez, referring to this week's game against Penn State. It might only hurt you for 24 hours but it will hurt the fans for a lifetime. Evertime a Michigan fan boasts about their team, from here to eternity all they will hear is how they lost to App. State and Toledo in back to back years. Sad.

Penn State should just murder this team. Should be the proverbial word. Is this the trap game everyone speaks of? Will they be looking past this game to Ohio State? Not likely. OSU doesn't scare anyone with the way their offense has been playing. No, look for Penn State to pummel Michigan and makes their fans feel eve shittier than they do now. This could possibly the worst loss in the history of Michigan if Penn State decides they want to hurt them badly.

Notable Quote- "This team is really confident in itself and its ability -- not cocky but confident. We go out and play with a little bit of a swagger, and I think it shows on the field." -- Penn State WR Deon Butler. A little bit of swagger? You guys should be the swagger kings right now.

Michigan 10 Penn State 41           Actual Score: Michigan 17 Penn State 46

For one half of one game Michigan was back. Then at halftime Jo Pa went into the PSU locker room and kicked every single player and coach square in the balls and told them he was going to rip them off and feed them to his dog if they didn't get their shit together and win. Ok, that's probably not what happened and I don't even know if Jo Pa has a dog but something was said at halftime that did the trick. Michigan gave it a valiant effort but that just ain't going to cut it against PSU. Penn State as of right now is the cream of the crop and the team to beat in the Big Ten. One last huge hurdle at OSU and then they should win out. That places them perfectly for a National Title game. Lose and it's all over with that one mark against you.

    Indiana @ Illinois

Indiana well what can I say. Hey, you guys there is always next year? I feel bad for this team. They went to a bowl game last year but this year will be the bottom of the barrell. It looks like all the teams in the Big Ten are on the way up except Michigan, obviously. Illinois doesn't look like it's on the way up either but doesn't look like its on the way down. Well, I will just cut to the chase. You guys lose this Saturday. I just hope it isn't ugly.

Notable Quote- "In the second half, Iowa just totally dominated the football game in every way possible. They ran it at will. They threw it. They maintained possession. We didn't do enough with it when we got a chance. I think it was somewhat even at halftime. I thought there was a little bit of juice going in after scoring late, but the second half they just absolutely dominated us in every phase." -- Indiana coach Bill Lynch on the difference between the first and second halves vs. Iowa. Once again a coach stating the obvious.

Illinois had a tough loss against Minnesota. They were always in this game and even had a shot towards the end of tieing it up. It didn't happen but they were always in it. They will take out their frustration of losing to Minnesota (the surprise team of the Big Ten) and put a pretty decent beatdown on Indiana.

Notable Quote- "We're not completely done with them, but a couple of them we've got to do some work on." -- Illinois coach Ron Zook addressing his team's preseason goals and how they're shifting after a 3-3 start overall, 1-2 in the Big Ten. Huh? Did anyone else understand that?

Indiana 13 Illinois 31         Actual Score: Indiana 13 Illinois 55

Well, I just won't mention that Indiana played. Illinois looked like the Illinois everyone expected at the beginning of the season. Have they arrived? Maybe. They played great they executed everything the way they were supposed to. A stellar game on offense and defense but I still ask is this team back or was Indiana just that bad? I think it was a combination of both.

That's that. I look forward to hearing others opinions on my picks and your own picks. This week there is a good chance of not even breaking even, maybe my streak of being even or better is over. Don't forget to take off your underwear when you take a shit.

Well, that's it for the updates I hope you guys enjoyed it. I am a little sad though that none of the games were close but hey that's the way it goes sometimes. Also at leat no Big Ten games had this ref on the field.

Ref makes tackle in LSU/USC game.

Still not sure how to embed video but at least I can do clicky links now. HAHA!
