    Rest in Peace, Bo Schembechler

Saturday, November 18, 2006, 08:07 PM EST [General]

When I first heard the news of Bo Schembechler's passing,  I was like ok, who the heck is Bo Schembechler? When I heard that he was the former head coach of the maize and blue, I was saddened.  He helped the OSU- UM rivalry grow into what it is today. He meant so much to a University that loved him back. Even more shocking was the time he died, a day away from the biggest game in the OSU -UM rivalry ever. The interesting thing was that he used to play/coach under the legend if Ohio State, Woody Hayes. This even added more fire to an already great rivalry.Bo stayed at UM until the day he died, which is remarkable.   He was Michigan football and always will be. I know the Maize and Blue didn't win today but they played for Bo, Im sure.

The worst game ever in College baseball.

Wednesday, June 28, 2006, 06:02 PM EST [Rice Owls, College Baseball]

I know, its been a week since the Oregon State Beavers defeated the Heels of North Carolina, 3-2 on a silly error that could've been avoided. But even more disappointing was the performance of the Rice Owls, here is the number one team in the nation with one of the best staffs in baseball. They beat Miami, 3-2 with Bryce Cox on the mound. Next stop, Semi-finals w/ the good ole Beavers. Bobby Bramhall was pitching the first game against the Beavs. He didn't really do too bad,  along with Will Mcdaniel, got a pair of k's.  Other than that, the first game was all Beavers, 5-0.

The next game was even more horrifying to watch, The Owls usually rock solid defense was sloppy. Eddie Deigermann and Bryce Cox did a pretty good job in the early going, Cox had 6 k's ad 4 hitless innings. Deiggermann's delivery was not effective because his stuff kept on landing in the dirt.

Now, to the defense(aargh!) Josh Rodriguez made a uncharastic error when he fired it from 3rd to 1st, his pitch landed on the tarp next to the bullpen.Oregon State capatalized on the error, driving in a run.  The final score wasn't as bad as the first game but much more agonizing because of the defense. It wasn't Wayne Grahams fault that they played so horrid, it was the players themselves. Rice, hopefully you'll play better defense when it matters most.

    Roger Clemens is back!

Wednesday, May 31, 2006, 05:24 PM EST [Baseball]

Roger Clemens is back where he belongs, in an Astros uniform. Yes, he's been to Boston, Toronto and NewYork(grr!) but Houston is his home. He played College ball at UT. When he came to Houston, Astros fans came out in huge numbers just to see this guy strike out as many batters as a 40 year old guy can, and trust me, this guy kicks some serious toosh at age 40. Hopefully he can regain his amazing arm in minor league ball so he can be the hall of fame pitcher he is. I hope he will go into Cooperstown in a 'Stros hat.
