    College Basketball Report

Thursday, January 15, 2009, 09:10 AM EST [General]

How the mighty have fallen! North Carolina came into the season as the undisputed favorite to win the title and go undefeated. Now the Tar Heels have lost two conference games, and maybe the third best team in the ACC.

If the Tar Heels struggle anymore, head coach Roy Williams will have aneurysm or turn into a sumo wrestler. It only matters how UNC plays in the tourney.

By the way, Jodie Meeks hung 54 earlier this week! 54! 54! 54! That's amazing. Teams barely score 54 in a game. Did Kobe ever score 54 in college? Nope, even though he never went. Congrats to Meeks and his 15-minutes of fame.

How about the Big East. Half the conference is in the top 25. There competing with NBA for best basketball league.

On the other hand, the SEC is horrible! This is a horrible baskeball conference. Maybe they still think that its football season, and score few points.

Mascot of the Week- Demon Deacon

Much love to the Wake Forest team and their mascot. This thing has the biggest head ever, right! Why is his hat so big?! Is that to impress the ladies. Guys, let's all go out and grab large black hats and wear them. They're chick magnets.

    College Football Report

Tuesday, November 25, 2008, 09:35 AM EST [NCAA FB]

WOW! WOW! WOW! Oklahoma rolled Saturday night. Texas Tech should have thrown in the towel in the first half. 65 points, that's just not fair. But now the BCS is a mess.

Alright, let's start with what we know. We know that the title game will have an SEC team and a Big 12 team. Sorry, USC you get no love outside of L.A.

The SEC is pretty clear to understand. The winner of the SEC championship game will be in the title game IF Alabama dosen't lose to Auburn and Florida to Florida State.
By the way, the House will be at the Iron Bowl for the game. This is the best rivarly in America. Yeah, I know the Michigan/Ohio State fans won't like that, but a rivarly is between two competitive teams.

The Big 12 is more insane than Alabama's Terrence Cody at a buffet table.

We got nothing but love for Mount Cody. A great football player that I fear for my life from.

Back to the Big 12. In this situation, Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma have all beaten each other. So what's the tiebreaker. It has to come to down to who passes the eye test, and STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE!!

    In this case,                                         Boomer Sooner!!!

Oklahoma has wins over TCU and Cincinnati both top 20 teams. They have looked the most impressive and should be headed to the Big 12 Championship. However, if Missouri wins the Big 12 title, things will explode into chaos.

Mascot of the Week- Stanford Tree

What in the name of everything that is right was Stanford thinking! This is supposed to be one of the smartest schools in the nation, but this is just sad. SAD!!!! And where is the cardinal! They are the Stanford Cardinals. Coming soon, the tree brings his pine cone babies to the field.

    Heisman

Superman returns to the top of my ballot. The heisman goes to best player in the nation OVERALL, not the best quaterback.

    Power Rankings

    1. Florida Gators

    2. Alabama Crimson Tide

    3. Oklahoma Sooners

    4. Texas Longhorns

    5. Texas Tech Red Raiders

    Picks

We went 3-1 last week (.750) Thanks to Ole Miss for the "upset"

I take the Sabanites in a game I will be watching, but it will be close. Bama wins.

I take the Gators because their better. Florida wins in the sunshine showdown.

I take Pitt at home over an underachiving West Virginia squad. Pitt wins at home.

I take Sooners on the road, and on to Big 12 title game. Oklahoma wins.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

    College Basketball Report

Thursday, November 20, 2008, 09:21 AM EST [NCAA BB]

Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Congrats to Kansas on winning the title last year. But that was last year, and this year many schools are in position to be at the top of the class. So let's jump into the first College Basketball Housecleaning of the season.

And what better way to start then by discussing the team that is the favorite to win in all, Roy Williams and North Carolina.

This is a team that returns all five starters from last year's final four squad. They also added two McDonald's all-american. Yikes! The only team that is close to the Tar Heels is the Doctor's Medical Bag.

And the bag has already been a force in the post for the Tar Heels. Tyler Hansbrough, Mr. Encino Man, as already been plague by a shin injury, and freshman Tyler Zeller is out for the year. Dude, it sucks to be a Tyler in North Carolina right now!

Here are the first power rankings of the season:

    1. North Carolina Tar Heels

    2. Connecticut Huskies

    3. Michigan State Spartans

    4. Louisville Cardinals

    5. UCLA Bruins

Mascot of the Week- Southpaw (South Alabama)

I got show love to the home school's biggest fan! Plus, he was voted best mascot in the NCAA tourney last year. Notice the lady in the blue looking at him. She is thinking "Hmm I wonder what it's like to be with a jaguar." Go JAGS!!!

    New Faces, New Places

Many coaches switched jobs this year, but we will focus on only two.

    Indiana

Actually, Crean is a color that is a bit of shade of tan. Anyway, he has a big task ahead of him. Seriously, lay of the tanning beds for a while Creaner!

    LSU

Trent Johnson's not in California anymore. He has traded in his surfboard for his Bayou boots. This is a win-win situation for both Johnson and LSU. Hey, if Georgia can win the SEC tourney, anything is possible in the SEC.

    Top Freshmen

    Tyreke Evans

The Memphis Tigers lost Derrick Rose, the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft, and now they plug in Tyreke Evans. Evans posted a double-double in the McDonald's All-American game, and won MVP honors. Yeah, he's pretty good.

    Al-Farouq Aminu

Wake Forest has produced Tim Duncan and Chris Paul. Now, Aminu looks to be the next great prospect. This small foward will be a major candidate for ACC player of the year.

    Jrue Holiday

Here's a statement, this is the best freshman in the nation. Holiday instanly makes UCLA  a final four favorite. Did I mention he is being compared to Dwayne Wade. Yeah, that Wade guy is kinda good.

So let the March to March begin. Who will make it to Detroit?

Can the Tar Heels stay healthy?

Why am I asking so many questions?

    Do vegitarians eat animal crackers?

Who will win the National Championship?

Where does Bob Knight get his sweater vest?

Did Lute Olsen get swept away by Aliens?

All of these questions will be answered on the road to the road of the Final Four.

NOW GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!

    College Football Report

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 08:27 AM EST [College Football]

Has anyone ever seen a Red Raider or a Sooner? Seriously who is coming up with these mascot names! Well, at least the two football teams are decent, and by decent I mean that both are on a collision course for a enoromous showdown Saturday night!

This is virtually a National Quaterfinal game. With the winner probably locking up a slot in Big 12 championship game. The Heisman trophy is also on the line for Graham Harrell.

Everyone knows that the two offenses will break the scoreboard, literally. I hope they have a back up. It will come down to the pressure of the moment. There is no pressure on Tech since they have never been in the situation. But Oklahoma is the better team so the nod goes to OKLAHOMA! (Even if their mascot is stupid!)

Mascot of the week- Big Al (Alabama)

Look at him. Doesn't he strike fear into the opposition. Why could Alabama get a real elephant. That would be awesome. Just put him in the endzone. I bet no one would run toward that for a touchdown!

Ding, Dong the Orange wizard is dead. Greg Robinson has finally gotten the axe at Syracuse. This is the most cheer Orange nation has had since the season started.

    Heisman Darkhorse

I've got a pick for heisman that no one is talking about, Percy Harvin (Florida). This is the fastest player in college football on the best team in college football. He can score anywhere on the field and is a gamechanger. Vote Harvin 08'

    Power Rankings

    1. Florida Gators

    2. Alabama Crimson Tide

    3. Texas Tech Red Raiders

    4. Texas Longhorns

    5. Oklahoma Sooners

    Picks

I take the Nutt in an upset over LSU. Ole Miss wins.

I take JoePa to win the Big 10. Penn State wins at home.

I take the Hurricanes because they are rolling right now. Miami wins on the road.
