An era has ended. With Stanford's upset over the Trojans, it is now imminent that there will be a new Pac-10 champion. The Trojans have won the conference seven straight years and will need an absolute miracle to make it 8. This year the conference has shown how deep and truly talented it is. Just when you think everything is figured out, someone upsets someone else and shakes up the standings. It is good for the conference to have a new champion because it increases interest and makes it so that fans feel like their team can go to the Rose Bowl rather than just cheering for a Holliday Bowl berth.

Week 11 presents some interesting match-ups and storylines. The Ducks will look to rebound after their first conference loss. The Sun Devils will possibly unveil a new quarterback. The Wildcats will look to keep their Rose Bowl hopes alive while the Bears see how they will fare without playmaker Jahvid Best. The final storyline will occur in the coliseum where Stanford looks to pull off an upset in its second straight visit to Los Angeles.

Stanford @ 9 USC: The Stanford Cardinal will look to upset the USC Trojans for the second time in three years. Andrew Luck and Toby Gerhart were both impressive in Stanford's upset of Oregon and USC was awful in its game against ASU. Despite this, the Trojans should win this game because they are at home. USC is the better

There are 5 weeks to go in the college football season and the Pac-10 race is far from being over. The Oregon Ducks are the favorite as they are the only undefeated team in conference play. However, they still need to travel to Tucson, Arizona to face the Wildcats who only have one loss. The conference also features four teams with two losses who have small margins of hope. Then there is UCLA and Washington State who are both still seeking their first conference victory.

8 Oregon @ Stanford: After coming off an impressive 47-20 victory over the then number 5 USC Trojans, the Oregon Ducks are full of confidence and look to extend their 7 game win streak against Stanford. Both these teams like to run the ball, but they do so in incredibly different ways. Oregon uses

Week 9 was an exciting week in the Pac-10 as two of the four games were decided in the final minutes. We also saw an Oregon team tear apart USC and virtually crush all hopes that the Trojans had of winning the Pac-10 for the 8th straight year.

Cal @ Arizona State: This game was surprisingly close. The Sun Devils shut down Jahvid Best as they held him to 63 total yards. The Devils knew that in order to have a chance to win, they would need to force Kevin Riley to beat them. Riley threw for 351 yards and two touchdowns and led the Bears to a last second victory. With 23 seconds remaining in the game, Giorgio Tavecchio kicked a 23 yard field goal to give the Bears as 23-21 victory over the Sun Devils. ASU continues to struggle on offense as Danny Sullivan threw another two interceptions

There are four Pac-10 games this weekend. All have interesting storylines, but no matter how good the other three games may be all eyes will be on the Oregon-USC game at 5 o’clock Saturday night. Even though USC at Oregon is the most intriguing match-up of the weekend, we can not forget about the other Pac-10 games.

Cal @ Arizona State: The Golden Bears are coming off of an impressive win against Washington State in which they put up a season high 559 yards of total offense. Cal’s offense has a lot of weapons and is expected to put up points even against an ASU defense that is among the best in the country. ASU has a stellar defense, but lacks offensive rhythm and efficiency. The offense is the team’s obvious weakness and will not be able to put up enough points

With the exception of the late game heroics from Chris McGaha and Danny Sullivan, Week 7 went exactly as expected. Cal got back on track, Arizona maintained the momentum from last week, and as I predicted earlier in the year, USC and Notre Dame played a thrilling game that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Cal @ UCLA: Jahvid Best, welcome back. Best had 153 yards of total offense and 2 touchdowns. UCLA proved once again that they are a quarterback away from being a legitimate Pac-10 threat. Although Kevin Prince threw for 311 yards, he threw a crucial interception in the final minutes as UCLA was attempting to comeback. UCLA is on a three game losing streak and is yet to win a Pac-10 game.

USC @ Notre Dame: 8 straight losses to the Trojans and Notre Dame

Finally, all teams now have at least one conference game under their belt. If there was any lesson learned this week it was that this conference is deeper than it has been in the past. There are no guaranteed wins this year, except for the Washington State game. Teams that appeared to be on the rise lost and teams that were struggling came up with big wins. UCLA @ Stanford: The Stanford Cardinal is attempting to end a 7 year postseason drought and this appears to be the year where they finally reach a bowl game. After a 24-16 victory over UCLA, Stanford is now 3-0 in conference play. Running back Toby Gerhart is off to a fast start this year. He continued his great play on Saturday as he rushed for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns. Washington @ Notre Dame: This is Jimmy Clausen’s ...

Week 5 has the potential to be full of excitement. It has 5 very intriguing games; 4 of which can go either way.

UCLA @ Stanford: This game is very intriguing because Stanford is coming off of an upset win over Washington and UCLA has been quietly taking care of business. UCLA seems to be a sleeper team this year. They had the impressive win at Tennessee and are quietly 3-0. I look for the Bruins to improve to 4-0 and emerge as a legitimate threat within the Pac-10 conference this year.

Washington @ Notre Dame: Other than last week's slip up at Stanford, Washington has been very impressive this year. Playing Notre Dame on the road is a great chance for the Huskies to bounce back and show the country that they are not pretenders this season. Unfortunately, Notre

The 4th week of the Pac-10 season was full of surprises. In the lone non-conference game of the week, ASU almost upset the Georgia Bulldogs. There were two top 25 teams within conference that were victims of upsets, USC got back on track, and Arizona may have found a quarterback.

The most anticipated conference game this week was the game between Oregon and Cal. The Oregon offense was struggling going into this game and everyone, myself included, expected this game to be another chance for Jahvid Best to pile on the stats and add to his case for the Heisman. However, the Ducks came out ready to play and the Bears began their annual mid-season meltdown a few weeks early. Cal came out flat and never gained any momentum. Oregon finally unleashed the offense that everyone had been expecting

Week 3 was an interesting week within the conference. There were upsets of top 25 teams and overtime victories. This week had many headlines and notable stories including Washington State getting a win (when something this rare happens, it deserves a headline), Oregon snapping Utah's 16 game win streak, Jahvid Best's 5 touchdowns, and Washington's upset of the third ranked USC Trojans.

Cal @ Minnesota: The Bears continue to impress everyone as they ran their way to a 35-21 win at Minnesota. The Bears have now shown that they are the best team in the conference thanks to Jahvid Best. Kevin Riley passed for 252 yards on Saturday. He didn't
