Week 6 continued to show that anything can happen in this conference. Everything went according to plan in three out of the four games. The exception came in Corvallis, Oregon where the Beavers showed that Stanford is not quite ready to a Pac-10 title contender. This week’s games were: 13 Oregon @ UCLA: Considering that the Oregon Ducks had scored ninety six points over the past two weeks, there were probably plenty of people that were surprised to see that the Bruins held the Ducks scoreless over the first half of football. This did not last very long however, as the Ducks returned the second half kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. On UCLA’s first play from scrimmage in the second half, quarterback Kevin Prince threw an interception that was returned 32 yards for a touchdown. 26...

Week 6 will be a defining week for a lot of teams in the conference. UCLA started off the season strong, but is coming off a loss last week, will they be able to rebound and upset the University of Oregon? ASU is playing Washington State who has looked sub-par all year, but the Sun Devils struggled last week and were very shaky even though they wee at home. Stanford is travelling to Corvallis, Oregon to take on the Beavers, if the Cardinal improve to 4-0 in conference play, I will be ready to say that this is the year they break their streak of not making it to a postseason bowl game. Arizona has been struggling and so have the Washington Huskies. Both teams will be looking for win and it will be interesting to see who get the win in Seattle.

Week 3 was an interesting week within the conference. There were upsets of top 25 teams and overtime victories. This week had many headlines and notable stories including Washington State getting a win (when something this rare happens, it deserves a headline), Oregon snapping Utah's 16 game win streak, Jahvid Best's 5 touchdowns, and Washington's upset of the third ranked USC Trojans.

Cal @ Minnesota: The Bears continue to impress everyone as they ran their way to a 35-21 win at Minnesota. The Bears have now shown that they are the best team in the conference thanks to Jahvid Best. Kevin Riley passed for 252 yards on Saturday. He didn't

The most anticipated game this week was the Thursday night game in Boise, Idaho. This game was not only a bust for the viewers as it was full of mistakes, but it was also a bust for the Oregon Ducks and the Pac-10 Conference. The Ducks came out flat and never found their rhythm. We all know what happened after the game, so I won't go into detail. The problem with this game was that the Pac 10 is often overlooked and Thursday night was a huge opportunity to gain some credibility, but instead the Ducks got embarrassed.

Every other Pac-10 game this week went as expected. Although everyone expected LSU to beat Washington, I don't think many of us expected Washington to keep the game within 8 points. LSU won 31-23 at Washington.

Oregon State beat Portland State 34-7.

This week’s preview is coming out early because of the highly anticipated Oregon vs. Boise State game on Thursday night. This week’s Pac-10 games are:

16 Oregon @ 14 Boise State (Thursday Night)
Portland State @ Oregon State

San Jose State @ 4 USC

San Diego State @ UCLA

 Stanford @ Washington State

Central Michigan @ Arizona

Maryland @ 12 Cal

Idaho State @ Arizona State

11 LSU @ Washington

The Thursday night season opener is by far the most intriguing game in the conference this week. The Oregon-Boise State game features two teams in the top twenty and has the Ducks fighting for revenge after the Broncos beat them in Autzen Stadium a year ago. Not only are the Ducks angry about the loss, but they are also seeking revenge for a couple of late hits that

This past week I moved into my dorms at Arizona State University; some students were talking about the football team and how excited they were for the season. I said that while I was excited about going to the games, I was not expecting much out of the ASU football season and that I expected them to go 7-5 or 6-6. The kids looked at me and said that I was to pessimistic. While I understand that they are supporting their school and that they want to believe they will win, it got me thinking that sometimes fans are to devoted to their teams and not exactly in touch with reality.

Would I love for ASU to have a great season and play in the Rose Bowl? Yes. No doubt about it, but realistically they will have a difficult year. I explained to my new friends that they have a first year
