    Jets Patriots 2009-A New Beginning?

Friday, September 18, 2009, 10:18 PM EST [NFL]

This has been my first blog post in years.  I know, I have been slacking.  I took last year off, but so did the Jets, so no harm, no foul.

This year things have changed.  I have seen the changes up close and personal, I have met Head Coach Rex Ryan and Quarterback Mark Sanchez and the impression I walked away with was like nothing I ever felt before, my son felt it too when he met Mark Sanchez.  The confidence, the maturity, the role model....but I will get to that later.  Let's talk about this weekends game and why I am picking this as my game of the week.

The Patri-RATS pulled out a win against Buffalo last week, and Buffalo is tough early on in the season, but the Rats pulled off a win in a hard fought contest.

The Jets completely dominated against the Texans last week, completely shutting out the offence for all four quarters.

It comes down to two teams heading in opposing directions.  The Patriots lost their core group a long tome ago and having Richard Seymore, Teddy Bruschi and others while the Jets have brought in KILLERS.  David Harris was only the beginning, Bart Scott and Rex Ryan have brought a Baltimore attitude to New York.  Ever see the Ravens play in the last decade or so?

Remember Baltimore?  I remember them coming a few bad calls away from spoiling the Patriots perfect season a couple of years ago, a much more talented Patriots team than the Jets are facing this Sunday.

As long as Mark Sanchez and the offence doesn't turn the ball over too many times, I expect the Jets to win.  I feel that Tom Brady will be sacked 4-6 times in this game and that the Patriots offense will stutter to a halt.

I have to point out how much I love Rex Ryan as a coach.  I love the fact that he wanted the Texans to have the ball first, how he wanted his defense on the field first to set the tone.  It put the opposing coach in a no win situation.  I love that his quarterback is also a role model to kids, kind hearted and talented.  This ain't no Broadway Joe, but he may be the next great Jets legend.

Suppose Beli-CHEAT wins the toss on Sunday-will he opt to kick off to the Jets in some sick retaliation move to put Sanchez on the field first?  Don't you think that would just fire up our defense even more?  By the time they get on the field they will be ready for blood.  So he is left with the option of taking the kickoff and giving the Jets defense what they want in the first place?

The Jets are turning into bullies and they want to hit their opponents in the mouth-they are out for blood, no more prevent defense, we have Jenkins smacking around interior linemen like they are gnats at a Sunday picnic.  Oh yeah, did I remember to mention that Sean Ellis is back this week????????

So is the Flight Crew!!!!!  Go Jets!!!!!!

Sanchez is a class act and the face of the future.

Hopefully he doesn't pull a Joe Willie and let the newfound stardom go to his head and ask someone to kiss 'em on national t.v. all stupified.

He doesn't seem like that type though...

Congrats on the win but don't count out the Pats just yet...

I'm sure we'll see ya soon.
