    Basle Express

Monday, June 19, 2006, 06:08 AM EST [SWITZERLAND]

The Basle Express left Switzerland at 6am this morning. By the time it hit Cologne it was standing room only for the 1 hour ride to Dortmund and the Westfallen Stadium, home of Borrussia Dortmund and the most atmospheric ground I have visited during this World Cup.

Switzerland versu Togo is not one that neccessarily gets the mouth watering but after France's lame performance last night against South Korea it suddenly becomes an important match and I'll tell you why...

Switzerland are building for Euro 2008 which they will co-host with Austria and they believe that the nucleus of this side will still be together then. They also have massive support here in Germany with even die-hard German fans supporting them, so they want to impress.

Togo on the other hand will want to show that they are not just pure and utter mercernaries. After almost losing their coach Otto Pfister on the eve of their first match, they then threatened to strike before this match because of bonus payments. Not the best prepartion eh!

The winner of this match will be in with a huge shout of making the 2nd round...so follow it LIVE right here.
