Positive and Negative about Caceres coming to Juve!
Positive: He is only 22.
He can play LB, RB and LB...Perfect.
He is tall and has a lot of power, perfect for EPL teams.
He wants to come to Juve and start.
He may a diamond in the rough.
Negative: He only played in 23 games last year, and started less.
It would be a loan deal, that we can buy him after the season.(both P/N)
He is very young, and will make mistakes and has much to learn.
I say go and get him, but first unload the dead weight in CP for 7-8 million. I cant stand him. He has such a better upside then all of our LB and RB options including De Ceglie and with the right D education from Chellini and Canna he could become a part of the Juve back line for years to come. Poor dude gets no attention. I also feel that if he can step in and immediately play LB and RB effectively then Juve's chances of winning greatly increase.
Now for the most attractive, desired teams in the world or at least in La Liga. No one expect Athletico or Sevilla to go any further thne the quarters to be fair, all hope is strongly placed on the shoulders on Real Madrid and Barca. La Liga has once again become a 2 league team with 18 other teams that have secondary goals. So lets start off with the current European Champions....BARCELONA!
FCB: The Nou Camp was last years biggest stage, by far. Barca went on to win the Primera Division as if they were playing in Englands Championship. Barcelona are stock piled with a great offensive artillery all starting with the midfield. Xavi and Iniesta are the two great Spainish Matadors that can conquer any defense in the world. Last year they were the most impressive duo in the world. A foward line with Messi, Henry(who is getting old), and Eto'o(who might be on his way out) provides constant pressure and pain for any defense in the world. But like all great teams Barca has a back line that is so over looked. Danny Alves is considered to be one of the top 2 RB's in the world. Carlos Puyol, Marquez, Pique and Abidal are all names that could play on any team in Europe. Goaltender Victor Valdes was the hero on many occasions last European term(remember the save against Drogba at the Nou Camp.) Coach Pep... well he inherited a team similar to Jose Mourinho with great winners, and found a way to make things work. Rumors have been spread that this will be his last year managing Barca, because he is unhappy with upper management and the Serie A may be his next destination.
Confidence Level: 4.2. Furthest: winners
Real Madrid: The Santiago Bernabau will host the 2009-2010 UCL final. How special would it be for Real to reach the final and win(over Barca!) Real Madrid have a team that is capable of every major honor, but...I am not sold on their defense. Pepe is to weak a CB for me to win the UCL, Albiol is moving into a new team, Heinze and Ramos are good but not amoung the elite of the UCL teams. This will be why Real dont win the UCL. They dont have the D equal to Inter, Barca, MUFC, CFC or Pool. They will have to outscore teams and in football, your defense is everything. But that offense really is explosive being led by midfielder and player of the year Ronaldo, last years player of the year Kaka, Diarra, Robben, Gago, Snjneider..so much depth. The strikers Raul and Benzema overshadow Higuain who scored 23 goals and only 1 from a penalty last year. Real have Manuel Pelligrini leading the charge and he will not deal with nonscence in the camp, be sure to see a focused Real Madrid almost every game. BTW: 52 goals conceded in La Liga last year!!!
Confidence Level: 5.1! Furthest: winners
Sevilla: Sevilla are a team capable of reaching the quarters but not a team capable of winning the UCL. Sevilla HAVE A WEAK OFFENSE only SCORING 54 GOALS IN LA LIGA LAST YEAR! Not enough to win the UCL. They are led by Kanoute and Fabiano(who will be at Milan), which is to weak an offense to win. A midfield with Romaric, Coriera,Dusher and Navas are ultimately second or third rate names in this ELITE European Competition. As I said the D was impressive led by Squillaci and Escude. Coach Jimenez did a good job leading them to 3rd last year in La Liga, but they are no better then AC Milan or or Bayern.
Confidence Level: 6 Furthest: quarters
Athletico: The complete opposite of Sevilla!!! They have conceded the most amount of any goals of the La Liga teams entering the UCL. Finishing 4h they are the weak link of the Spainsh Primera teams and have almost no shot at winning the UCL. There 80 goals scored is impressive, but as highly unimpressive ast he 57 conceded. They are led by young Serigo Aguero and superstar Diego Forlan. Two players that can be deadly with any mistake made. A midfield led by wingers Maxi Rodriguez and Simao, Athletic will score goals. But... like I said they will give up more. Ufalushi is the only solid back they have and he is 32. Enough said!!! Coach Resino is looking at a very eary exit.
Confidence Level: 6.5 furthest: quarters( need a great draw)
I still feel we need a quality LB to be a real competitor, but it seems that Santos is going to Barca and that Grosso is staying at Lyon where he will never win again. Weep...Bordeaux and Mars are the best in France. So I will rate the top teams comp. in this years UCL and my confidence level facing them. Ok, so lets start off with the best league in the world...EPL!
1-3 little confidence...4-6 beatable if we have out stuff, need to come out ready.
7-8... should win, but could be upset. 9-10 Almost can bet on it.
Manchester United: MUFC was the biggest stage in football in 07-08 and half way though 08-09, it changed hands to Barca in the middle of the season and MUFC were ultimately defeated in the final by Barca. MUFC was a comp. different team when Ronaldo(Best in the world) was performing crossovers and scoring all types of goals. MUFC replaced him with Valencia and Tevez with Owen... both quality but considerable downgrades from Ron and Tevez. United will miss Tevez pitbull energy with Rooney and Ronaldo's presence. They have no real man in midfield to say " Hey get me the ball!", but what they do have is a collective calmness and usually posses the ball for ungodly amount of time. It is still to be seen if they will function without thier main cog. MUFC WILL MISS RONALDO, and WILL SUFFER THE NEXT FEW SEASONS!!! REMEMBER...when he was out in the begining of last year they STUNK, comp. different team. The defense is still one of the top 3 in the world and they have a game saving keeper. How can I forget Ferie...the best manager in the history of the EPL.
Confidence Level: 5.5... UCL final Round: furthest Semi finals!
Liverpool FC: LFC are going to win the EPL easy this year if they keep prized midfielder Xavi Alonso. Alonso is the most graceful passer of the ball on any team in the world and will be the difference in winning the EPL easy or a Bloody nail biting ride. Liverpool have won the UCL a few seasons ago, and can NEVER EVER be counted out(look at this year against CFC.) Pool have a good attack lead by the best striker in the EPL, Fernando Torres. Pool's midfield is anchored by EPL player of the year Gerrard( who might be the Ballon D'Or next season!) Masherano also must not be sold to Barca and will provide the grit, AC Milan's Gattuso does on a daily basis with King Albert! This years big addition Glen Johnson from Pompey put Pool over the top for me. Pool have a solid D finishing 3rd in the league in goals conceded only behind CFC and MUFC! Reina is a solid keeper and Benitez has already won the UCL, so no complaints there if he can win it again.
Confidence Level: 4.95 Furthest: winners
CFC: I dont think I can even explain the cruel torment the CFC fans have had to endure over the past 2 UCL seasons. Chelsea have added Carlo who is perfect for the UCL,but dont expect to win the league. This can prove good or bad for Chelsea because if they are not performing in the league they can be unconfident and crash out ofthe UCL, or...they can feel obligated to succeed and like always Carlo does. Chelsea had the best defense in the EPL last year with MUFC conceding only 24 goals. The Alex(Carvalho), Terry CB pairing was the best CB pair in the world last year and not to mention Cole and Bosingwa out wide give Chelsea a power back. Cech is NOT what he was, but is still a good keeper. Chelsea have one of the deepest midfields that is anchored by Frank Lampard( who also will challenge for the Balon D'Or next season. Joe Cole is returning and with Essien, Zhirkov and Ballack CFC runs deep in quality midfield. They have the EPL's golden boot winner with Anelka and world class Drogba who will be missed early on. CFC are my pick to win next season!
Confidence Level: 4.75 Furthest: winners
Arsenal: Arsenal, where to start... Oy. Arsenal had a bipolar team last year and showed their lack of UCL class against MUFC in their home leg. Quite frankly they never even stook a chance. They conceded a eye opener 37 goals last year. The D is anchored with Gallas and Toure who can dominate a game, but tend to be the 4th best pairing every year, never stepping up to the challenge. This is why they DESPERATELY NEED A DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER LIKE MELO( not now that he is coming to Juve..Thank God!!!!) Walcott and Nasri were in and out of games all year, while Fab might be set to go to Barca. That would kill Arsenal and they would be dead this year in the UCL. Striker Robin V. Persie negotiated a contract extension wih the gunners and always finds a way to get hurt. Eduardo will be back but is not on the level of Anelka, Drogba, Torres, Ibra, Eto'o, ect... and... Adebayor is class, that should remain with Arsenal. Arsenal fans should not expect any major trophies next season execept the FA cup or Carling Cup. Wenger has lost it and they have little money to spend. Arsenal are to big a club to slip from the big 4, but with City having all the money which big 4 team will be the first to falter...Hmm...no money =what? They were very very lucky to beat Roma!
Confidence level: 6.4 Furthest: Quarters.
Tomorrow: La Liga, other Serie A teams!
Saturday: Lige One, German Bundesliga.
Sunday: All other great leagus like( Port, Turkey, Ukraine, ect...)
UCL chances next season based on today 7/8/09!(this can change)also Juve's number is with Melo! Inter: 14% It is the Special Ones Time! Barca: 19% but no one repeats! Real 17% 2010 in their home Pool 13% Focusing on the EPL! MUFC: 9% Not going to happen. CFC: 14% Hey CFC, Inter final would be great! 3rd is the Charm! Juve 7% Juve can suprise many teams, no one has more heart! Arsenal 4% Hey you never know, but if they sell Fab... no way! Wolfsburg: My suprise team, I think they will do very well( not going to put percentage!) 2.3% Bordeaux .6% The percentage is not fair, but they also will do very well. Milan: never count them out... not this time, they stink! 0.1% Hey you alreadly won it 7 times, give others a chance!
My final predictions:
CFC v. Inter
winner: CFC
I was right the last 3 years... so root for my predictions Inter fans!
