Chris Webber: From Fab to Faded

Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 08:07 AM EST [NBA]

NBA veteran Chris Webber announced that he will retire after 15 years in the league. The journeyman forward cited injuries as a driving force behind his decision.

    WHO CARES!!!

You know your career was a BUST when the general sports public remembers you for your bone-headed timeout call (almost 15 years to the day in 1993) during the NCAA championship game versus North Carolina - costing the Wolverines a shot at the championship, as a member of the "Fab Five" - who collectively added up to footnote in the history of the NBA. But your 15-year NBA career is as memorable as a car ride across Nebraska.

Webber did nothing worth remembering in the NBA. Let's leave the headlines open for more room to talk about the things that are important; like A-Rod hitting on Canseco's wife, Pacman using the Deacon to try to get in with the Cowboy's, the virtually unnoticed opening to the Major League Baseball season, and the "Perfect Season Killer" on the cover of Vogue with King James.
