If Tiger Woods retired today, he would already have enough money to live out the rest of his life in extreme comfort, and then have enough money to ensure his children and grandchildren would never have to work a day in their lives.
That might be a lot more important as the details of his Thanksgiving accident come to light. Anyone who believes the original story about his wife saving him from his Escalade is simply naive. After removing the obviously outrageous scenarios, two main themes remain - both of which will most likely take a 9-iron to his endorsement deals.
First, is the domestic abuse scenario. With the recent headlines about Tiger's alleged extra-marital affair, it has been speculated by close sources that the accident was a result of an argument related to the tabloid reports. This would leave one to believe that the altercation was physical before Tiger left the house in his SUV.
Then the questions arise about whether or not he assaulted his wife, who witnessed it, and what was his state when entering the vehicle. It is very likely she had assaulted him (whether provoked or unprovoked) prior to entering the vehicle and he was injured and semi-conscious as he left the driveway, resulting in the accident. This is the likely scenario in this case because there is no evidence to suggest that it was necessary pull Tiger out of the back of his vehicle (the only windows damaged during the accident). There were no obstructions preventing access through any of the other doors which suggests the windows were damaged prior to the accident. Plus, his wife is already recanting here original story.
The second option, if abuse is not an option, is drug related. With his recent surgeries and injuries, it is very possibly that excessive medication could have resulted in a disoriented state which led to the accident and the loss of consciousness. However, it does not explain the fact that the rear window was busted "in an attempt to rescue" Tiger when no other avenues were obstructed.
Either way, Tiger is hiding something. Regardless of the situation, the best policy is honesty and transparency (to steal an Obama Buzzword). The longer this goes with no answers, the more answers will be created by the court of public opinion.
And unless he brutalized his wife, which does not appear to be the case at this point because that would most likely would have come forward at this point. But I'm sure the counter claim will be made if it appears that that is the source of the accident.
Regardless of the origin, the Tiger Woods brand image is tarnished. Period. The secrecy, cover up, misinformation and vagueness are continuing to wear on the luster Tiger has worked for so many years to establish.
People are forgiving. People just want to know the truth and then forgive, and move on. Time and time again that has been proved in the sports and entertainment world. This would be no different. Tiger just needs to come forward, come clean, and allow the healing process to begin.

Irony redefined: in a world when idiots like John and Kate are elevated to reality tv celebrity status, Joe The Plumber and the Steve Bartman are crucified in the media for being real people, AND we saw more of Michael Jackson after he died than we have in the past 10 years combined, Tiger Woods slips through the cracks with a traffic ticket and a $164 fine. Yes, he was treated like the average Joe, but Tiger is nit the average Joe. It's thinking like that that will put TMZ and the Enquirer out of business.
