When I got home today, I saw that Around the Horn and Pardon the Interuption were both going to not be on today.  The reason?  Poker.  POKER!!!!  So, as whenever these shows are tossed for a day, I present my cheap knockoff, Excuse the Distraction.

I have a cheap logo now, hee hee.  Ok, now lets start off with the opening rants.

I'm going to start here with the reason PTI isn't on today.  Poker.   Why has poker gotten so big in the last few years?  I've watched and played poker before, and its not really that exciting.  Why does everyone love this stuff?  Plus, how is poker a sport?  By rule, you can call many things sports, but I really don't know how poker can be considered a sport.  You sit at a table, see cards, and bet.  That's a sport?  Are Blackjack and Slots sports as well?  Should we just call every casino game a sport?  Think about it.

Ricky (Pothead) Williams is apprently the highest paid CFL running back in the league.  Which makes him have less money than 3rd stringers in the NFL.  What a fall for this guy,  He was one of the best running backs in the league, and he threw that and a lot of money away.  For what?  Drugs?  He can't even pass a test, and because he failed again, he has to play in Canada.  Why are the Toronto whatevers even taking this guy?  Can he even play, or has he smoked away his entire career.  Ricky Williams, what a career it could have been.

Hey Detroit Pistons, wake up!  There was very little debate during the regular season about who the best team in the East is, but so far in the playoffs, they've looked like crap.  People have called the Heat inconsistant, but the Pistons look like they might be more.  As I write this the Pistons are down 2-1 as they play game 4 in Miami tonight.  If they lose this game, they are likely done.  I ask, why hasn't this team lived up to its regular season hype?  No disrespect to the Heat, but it looks like the Pistons are choking this one away.

Now, my Idiot of the Week posts are usually seperate, but I forgot to post one last week, so I have last weeks Idiot here for you all.  Now, I've considered giving to Aramis Ramirez for an incredibly bonehead play in the 11th inning of a game, but I found a better candidate.  That candidate, is "The King"

Nascar legend Richard Petty gets the award this week.  Now, in his racing career, Petty put up tons of records, including 200 wins, and 7 championships.   But the other day, Petty made comments about how he believes women should not be in racing.  Hey Richard, its 2006, times have changed since your racing days.  Women are no longer servants to you.  If they have the talent to race, then let them race.  Petty is just living in the past, and needs to wake up.  Maybe the wake-up call will be him winning....

ODDS that the Hurricanes/Sabres series goes 7 games.

I've got this at 67%.  It has been a very close series, including a great OT Game 5.  But I see Buffalo responding with a victory in game 6.

ODDS that the Detoit Tigers win the AL Central.

Sorry Tigers, I have this at 13%.  They have had really good pitching to this point, but now Mike Maroth is on the DL.  Plus, the White Sox, Twins, and Indians are all solid teams.  If they played in the NL West, they'd be set.  But it will be a tough road for the Tigers to win the division,

ODDS that Barry Bonds' 715 home run ball sells for at least $2,000,000.

I have this at 100%.  Altough so many people seem to hate Bonds, many people will realize how big of a moment in Baseball history this is.  Either that, or some crazed Giant fan wants it because they have a man-crush on Barry, either way.

ODDS that WWE Raw is worth watching tonight.

I will have to say 37%.  With ECW coming back, and DX too, it could be a solid show.  As long as the Spirit Squad and Chris Masters aren't on.
