I wasn't planning on doing any posts anytime soon, but this one made me think. I read that IRL driver Paul Dana died in a practice crash at Homestead. I saw the video of this, because they showed it at halftime of Pacers-76ers. Watching that wreck made me sick to my stomach. Not as much because that was a terrible crash, and a man's life was lost. But because many people I know only watch NASCAR or any racing because they want to watch crashes. I can't understand why you would wish for crashes knowing how dangerous racing is. People I know hope for wrecks, and it sickens me. We are lucky that people don't die more often, being that they drive over 200 MPH at times. It is much more dangerous in the IRL then in NASCAR, because those cars are so compact. I just think that it is pathetic that any person watches a race and hopes for a wreck.
My thoughts go out to Paul Dana and his family.
