I have been a Braves fan since 1990 when I was a twelve year old boy playing summer ball myself. My father finally paid for us to get cable TV for the first time in our lives. I remember it like it was yesterday, Dave Justice won" Rookie Of Year" award, Ron Gant was a power house, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz where doing really good and they started the several years of N.L. Championships. Mark Lemke was at second base, Sid Bream was at firstbase and Otis "Spiderman" Nixon was at center field. I got to see probably 80 to 90 games every year until recently.
For some reason Turner Broadcasting Station has decided to not show Atlanta Braves games anymore. WHY!!!!???? It makes know sense why they would throw the Braves away from their broadcasting schedule after a few years of mediocre baseball. You don't see WGN in Chicago throwing the Cubs to the waste side just because they aren't good or Fox sports south throwing the Astros away. I have lost all respect for TBS and Ted Turner himself for this move. They now only show baseball on Sunday afternoons and none of them are Atlanta Braves games either. As of 5/30/08 I -------(Below)
I have recently purchased MLB.com and now watch just about every Braves game. Even though I get to watch them it still angers me to know end that I pay for a bundle package to my cable company for phone, cable and internet and if I want to watch the Braves I have to pay an extra $170 to my cable company to watch them. The best deal was through MLB.com for either $19.95 or $109.00 for the rest of the season. I guess it is worth it if I want to continue to watch the Braves with my daughter and three boys.
The reason I have changed this posting is to hopefully help as many Braves fans find other avenues to watch the best team in America as cost effective as possible. Go Braves!!
