Every so often you will get a baseball guy that his sports is a real thinking mans game and that if you don't like the sport, then you aren't sophisticated enough to get the sport. I think that this idea completely wrong.
I was sitting around haveing a few beers with my buddy who i consider to be a football guy. He and I see each other a couple of time a week to watch football aon a weekly basis. Then I have another friend who is more of a baseball guy based on the judgements that he wants to hang out pretty muich everyday. This guy also uses numbers to justify why he so popular because he has x number of friends. He is a little different than me and all of my football friends as he is the one with no job and nothing but time on his hands. Me and my football friends are the opposite.
Football fans usually are seen as jobless lunch pail sort of guys and baseball is the intelectual people.
I think it is the opposite. Football is the thinking mans game, where the coach coaches and the baseball they manage the game. In football you can tell people what to do and they can do it. In baseball you can tell someone to hit and it doesn't mean that it's going to happen. Baseball is not the thinking mans game cause during practice there aren't a lot of drills to do unlike a football coach who has numerous drills to choose from. Baseball you get chances upon chances becasue of the amount of games, it doesn't demand perfection like football where you get one game a week and you need to practice a lot during the week to prepare. I could argue that football is more practice than play. You need to practice to get perfection. Baseball you practice during a game, this is a game where you can fail 7 of 10 times and you are seen as a great hitter. Football is the thinking mans game where more intelectual people wathc that sport rather than baseball.
Just a thought
