With Barry Bonds' assault on history over we haven't really had to talk about steroids in sports ever sinced he jacked # 756. But with the recent reports that former NFL quarterback Tim Couch accused of taking HGH and anobolic steroids, all I have to say is, What is the big deal?
Steroids are performance enhancing not performance detrimental. Based on the allegations that Bonds took something doesn't really bother me. I actually like the idea of people taking steroids because we get exciting plays in sports that we might get if they weren't on something. With Couch dropping his body fat percentage by 13.5% and adding 35 pounds of muscle, I am ok with this. It doesn't bother me.
I don't like Bonds because he is a jerk, not because he allegedly has done what he has done. With Couch also allegedly doing what he has done, he was signed by a team, and then he was cut.
Steroids don't make you get a starting job on a team, if that was true then Couch would be starting in the NFL right now. Most steroid users who are caught, are fringe players who are just trying to make the team.
Don't be so excited over records possibly being tainted, just put an asterisk by thier name and say they had help, that is fine with me. People, go to the games and be entertained and don't care what the players you are watching are potentially on.
Just a thought,
Mark
