I'm still scratching my head and wondering where the past eight weeks have gone. Fans of a number of NFL teams are hoping that the next nine weeks will pass just as quickly. Don't worry, the approaching holiday season should help that along.
It's a good time to stand back and take stock of all that we've seen and heard this season and poll the electorate.
Fantasy MVP: I'm going with Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Yes, he got shut out in Week 8, but his production through the first seven weeks were nothing short of phenomenal. The selection of McNabb later on draft day allowed fantasy owners to stock their running back slots and grab a top-tier receiving option before turning to him. And he's done it all without a true No. 1 running back or receiver in the traditional sense of the word.
Fantasy Flop: Unfortunately, the storybook ending to the 2005 season hasn't carried over for Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. Roethlisberger was expected to take on a larger role this year with the retirement of Jerome Bettis and raise his fantasy profile. His devastating off-season accident and a number of in-season incidents have yielded a poor passer rating with six touchdowns against 11 interceptions.
Fantasy Surprise: It's a no-brainer here with the emergence of Rex Grossman as a weekly fantasy starter. He's tossed 13 touchdown passes in seven games to open the year.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the season to date and the best and worst of your rosters. Feel free to post.
