As the NHL season is nearing the playoff competition players are still getting injured.  The Red Wings played against the Blue Jackets without Schneider, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk.  With Henrik Zetterberg set  to return Tuesday for the game with the Edmonton Oilers.  Expect Schneider and  Datsyuk to return on Thursday.

  Detroit Red Wings the top team of the NHL did not play worried hockey when they visited Columbus, the depth teamed up and won the game.  Valtteri Filppula was called up from Grand Rapids and the talented prospect played a defensive game that was crucial to the win and had a few passes and shots on offense.  Filppula centered the Zetterberg line; and shut down the opposing Blue Jackets shift with back checking and stick checking that would generate more time of possesion with the puck for the Red WIngs.

  The Red Wings are not playing a frustrated game on the ice while waiting for Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, and Mathieu Schneider to return to locker room.

  The Red Wings won the game 4-2.  And set a new NHL road win record winning away from home 29 times.
