Soccer in the United States is still trying to gain in the popularity department.  With the FIFA world cup on the heels of the NBA Playoffs and NHL Cup run.  Our popular networks in the States are airing this high energy sport-- ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC are giving the sport some major broadcast time.  It is about time.  This sport is energizing and very entertaining.  It has the intensity of a Michael Jordan dunk.  Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier break away goal.  A David Ortiz grand slam in the must win game of the World Series. A Tom Brady pass for a Super Bowl win.  FIFA World Cup of Soccer is plain, pure sport to its very core.

  MLS-- Major League Soccer- is a draw for the soccer loyal in America.  There are some people who still do not watch soccer in America.  Get out there behind a local team and cheer your heads off.  Leap your legs to exhaustion when a spectacular goal takes you by surprise.  American audiences-- this sport is fast and easy to understand rules.

  As for the major time on the Networks of ABC-- I will be watching and cheering every goal for the US team.  I like team Netherlands to.  So regardless, if  you are  an abstinate viewer of soccer, watch it and you will be learned to call it European Football.
