    Keegan is back.......

Wednesday, January 16, 2008, 01:01 PM EST [EPL Stadiums]

When 50,000 Geordies scream loud enough they generally get what they want and that is why King Kev is back in the hot seat at St James' Park. The fAns never took to Allardyce and always looked upon him as an outsider but in Keegan they have a man who they generally consider one of their own.          I know a lot of people feel like this is a backward step for Newcastle in hiring a former manager but i think it is the right move in the short term. Keegan will provide an immediate lift to the fans and that should translate to the players on the field so results should improve enough to see Newcastle climb the table. People should also not forget that Keegan led Newcastle to a second place finish in the premier league, and although the league has changed since then, that experience at the top level is vital.                While i feel that this is the best move for Newcastle now, i do believe that it will ultimately not be the answer long term and that is why i feel that Alan Shearer should be brought in as an assistant. He could gain valuable experience under King Kev for a year or two and would then be ready to push this club forward himself. Until then Kevin Keegan is the man at Newcastle and i am certainly grateful for it. Keegan is a true entertainer and the Premier League will be better for having him back.
