I'm beginning tp believe those guys with the cardboard signs. All the changes have to mean something. The change in the chase? The "COT"? Michael Waltrip not qualifying? Jr. leaving DEI? Jr. becoming team mates with Gordo? Folks, this is not "silly season" anymore, (sorry Jay) this is serious! The world as we know it is coming to an end. Can we, as survivors, make the new world a better one? Or are we just stuck with what they give us?
When it comes to the "COT", I must say I was pleasently surprised. I expected a lot more problems and a lot less racing. What I found was exactly the opposite. The races were exciting, and very, very few got knocked out because of the cars added features. I did, however, miss getting to see the open wheel, almost Sprint Car style towards the end of the Bristol race. These cars stay together too good! If that doesn't prove it's safty and durability, I don't know what will.
Everyone knows my thoughts on Mikey, and it looks like he may be headed in that direction. Let's see if he can be an owner.
What will become of the Jr. fans? Jr. has betrayed the very byline of the club- HATE HENDRICKS! Maybe he is a little smarter than I gave him credit for, that or he has a bigger pair than I thought. He said he wanted to prove to himself that he was either a champ or a chump, his choice only proves that he's willing to face the truth, either way. I have said since the beginning that Jr. has finally grown up, well this proves it. He's putting it all out there and he will either fail or suceed. At least he's man enough to admit this is a test and I'll take the grade, bad or good. I think Sr. is very proud.
This is a goldmine for Hendricks and Gordon. It can only be good. How can you hate your man's teammate? Jr. may lose a few over this, not all are team players because of the driver. Those he does lose, though, I'm sure will not even leave a scratch on the body of the Jr. Nation. (I still don't get those who claim to be such die hard fans of Jr. and Sr., yet they have no clue about all the ties between the three. If you claim to be a fan, at least know what you're talking about.)
The bombs are exploding all around us. In the "off season" as we dig out of the rubble, I only hope that we can rebuild this sport. We have to get back those we lost to all the changes. The world will change, so I guess NASCAR must to.
P.S. The #8 does belong to DEI, so Jr. must find a way to buy it, or he'll be in another number.
