"Hey BIG HATER, what are you going to do now? Kobe has 4 rings and you got 4, who's got next?!"
I'm not a fan of the NBA but I had to get that off my chest!

The Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl and now the Pittsburgh Penquins have won the Stanley Cup and that makes the city of Pittsburgh the newest city to adopt the moniker TITLE-TOWN....and from the looks of it, Pittsburgh won't be giving up that title any time soon.... The Steelers and Penquins each have a young enough player nucleus to rattle off 2 or 3 more Champ. Titles over the next few years and who knows by then the Pirates might be good enough to capture there first World Series title since 1979 Congratulations Steel-Town you're the Best of the Best for the '09 year! The Gift and the Curse of CLEVELAND Sports

The lights are slowly dimming on another potential great Cleveland sports team, once again. The Cleveland Cavaliers are 1 loss away from being eliminated from the NBA '08-'09 playoffs. The team with the best record in the NBA during the regular season has to win 3 straight games (2 at home and 1 away) to advance to the NBA Finals, and at this point and time it seems highly unlikely that's going to happen; even with the best b-ball player on the planet playing on their team, the Cavs have a huge mountain to climb. Smart money says they'll probably win game 5 at home (with the help of the referees and David Stern--wink wink!) but come game 6 back in Orlando, Black-Out on the Cavalier season, for real! It makes u wonder what the city that 'rocks and rolls' did in its sports past to deserve such pain and misery. The Browns, Indians and now the Cavs have all been on the brink of Championship Glory, teasing the city of cleveland and its loyal fanbase, only to lose it right at the end, and when I say 'lose it', I mean lose it in gut-wrenching fashion. If you're from Cleveland or happen to be a fan of any of the professional teams, you know what its like to go home with 'Blue Balls' at the end of every season; you get worked during the season, ready to release during the postseason but all u really get is a kiss on the cheek and a cold hand(*ob)shake... ...one day Cleveland will be basking in the glow of championship-dom, right? anybody? god? jesus? buddha? O.J.? somebody help Cleveland, Pleeeeease! Tags:
Steeler Organization and Nation experiences Dark Day

It has been a very successful offseason for the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, up till the moment LB James Harrison opened his mouth and refused acceptance to the White House by the President of the U.S.of A 'Barack Obama' I'm sure this will pass but Harrison's comments and reasoning will go down in PR infamy as ludicrous...he embarassed himself and the whole organization! NHL is getting Love everywhere but the Media

Its the MEDIA, its the bleeping Media. I hate to blame the Media because thats not my usual M.O. but for this post I have to nail them to 'cross' so to speak and give 'em the 'business' I know the League of National Hockey here in the States doesn't come close to Football, Basketball and Baseball in terms of Fan Appreciation but somebody somewhere has got to acknowledge the fact that Hockey, right now, has equal if not more dynamic talent, as a whole, than the other big 3 sports. And I'll also argue that Hockey's playoff system is more exciting than the other 3 post-season action put together. I'm a big fan of the NFL (the clear #1 sport in the U.S.) and its hard to find flaws in their overall structure but even with a 'one and done' playoff structure it pales in comparison to the up and down--fast paced-each goal is crucial playoff format that Hockey has going for itself But for some reason ESPN and FoxSports radio host as well as there TV counter-parts give none to very little verbage to the sport, and when they do mention it, all they talk about is how nobody is watching it and very few people care. And that is the furthest from the truth. There are a lot of hockey fans in America, and you can read the numerous blog posts across the vast Internet-Spacedom if you don't believe me, and soon enough the popularity will trickle down in a major way to the young kids growing up who will one day pick up stick/skates convincingly instead of a basketball or bat Now I have to give props to past and current radio/tv journalist that give love, people like Chris Russell (radio) and Jim Rome (radio/tv), but there should be way more media outlets, tv & radio, giving back to the sport of Hockey in the good ole U.S.of A I know the current TV contract doesn't do hockey any favors but hopefully at some point in the near future the NHL can get another major network TV contract so America can see what I and a lot of over-underground Hockey fans already know....teams like the Penquins, Capitals, Blackhawks, Red Wings have re-engergized this league with their girth of talent and showmanship and can and should stand next to the NFL, MLB and NBA with their Hockey Sticks held high p.s.....if u know of any more journalist (radio in particular) from around these states that show 'love' to hockey please let me/us know....
