Chiefs RB Larry Johnson reportedly componded his Twitter problems on Monday by saying "get your f*ggot a** out of here" to a group of reporters. I'm with John Czarnecki, who wonders if the Chiefs will bench Johnson when they return in Week 9. He's no longer good enough to get away with being an obnoxious jerk.
On to the news:
- Monday night's game was rough on the injury front. Eagles RB Brian Westbrook left the game after suffering a concussion in the first quarter. Westbrook will obviously undergo tests to determine the severity of the concussion, and as head coach Andy Reid said after the game, "We're not going to put him out there if he's at risk." I'm guessing that we won't have to wait until kickoff to know Westbrook's status for Week 8.
- Redskins TE Chris Cooley is probably out for the season with a broken ankle. Backup Fred Davis had eight receptions for 78 yards and a TD after Cooley's injury, and you can get him in just about any league right now. Other fantasy replacement options for Cooley are Vernon Davis of the 49ers (owned in 51 percent of FOXSports.com leagues), Tony Scheffler of the Broncos (49 percent owned) ... I could go on and on. There are plenty of decent tight ends available.
- Finally Eagles WR DeSean Jackson hurt his foot in the first half, but came back after having some X-rays at halftime. Probably nothing to worry about, unless you're the Redskins, who will probably have nightmares for awhile about Jackson's two long TDs.
- Texans WR Andre Johnson has a lung contusion. That sounds really scary, and while the Texans say Johnson is day-to-day, they're also hopeful that he'll be able to play against the Bills on Sunday. Stay tuned.
- Alex Smith is officially the new starting QB for the 49ers, and since he's owned in fewer than one percent of leagues around here, you can get him if you want him. Smith has a tough matchup at Indy this week, but he's worth grabbing as a backup if you don't like the one you have (hello, Matt Cassel!).
- I haven't seen any news this week about Lions WR Calvin Johnson, who missed Week 6 with a knee injury. I'll have an update on Thursday.
- Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start again this week in place of the concussed Trent Edwards. Fitzpatrick isn't very good, but WR Lee Evans has almost as much production in two games with him (nine catches, 143 yards, two TD) as he had in five games with Edwards. Keep that in mind if you need a matchup receiver this week.
- The Panthers aren't yet sure if they're going to bench QB Jake Delhomme. How bad do your other QBs have to be if you can't decide whether to bench a guy with four touchdowns and 13 interceptions?
- Titans owner Bud Adams is reportedly pressuring head coach Jeff Fisher to start Vince Young at quarterback. Don't be surprised to see a change in the next week or two.
- Colts WR Reggie Wayne has a groin injury, and while the Colts don't exactly know yet how serious it is, it doesn't sound bad. The Indianapolis Star also reports that WR Anthony Gonzalez "might get some practice time this week," which doesn't sound encouraging.
- Vikings WR Bernard Berrian suffered what appears to be another hamstring injury on Sunday, and his status for the "Favre gets mercilessly booed at Lambeau Bowl" is TBD.
- My friend Roger Rotter is hosting a live fantasy football chat on FOXSports.com today at 3 p.m. ET. Send him some really hard questions, OK?
- Don't forget your byes this week. The Bengals, Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Buccaneers and Redskins are all off.
See you back here on Thursday morning.
