I haven't seen an official pool to enter, but my pick for "When Jim Zorn gets fired today" is 10:12 a.m. ET.
On to the news:
- Two New York area media outlets - this one and this one - seem to think that Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery will be ready to go tonight against the Dolphins. I can't imagine that many of you can still start Cotchery, but if you have someone like Ted Ginn Jr. in his lineup spot right now, keep an eye on the inactive lists before kickoff tonight.
- Lions WR Calvin Johnson left Sunday's game with a knee injury, but we're not going to know anything about his status until he has some tests.
- 49ers RB Glen Coffee left early on Sunday with a leg injury. There's no word on how serious it is, but with a bye week coming and Frank Gore scheduled to return in Week 7, Coffee can rest until Gore gets hurt again.
- Speaking of the Niners-Falcons game, I'd like to officially welcome Roddy White to the 2009 fantasy season after his 210-yard, two-TD effort. Did anyone else bench him besides me? %$#@!
- If you're still trying to find Mike Sims-Walker's name in the Jaguars-Seahawks boxscore this morning, Jacksonville.com says the Jags' WR was benched because he "violated the team itinerary" during the team's stay in Seattle. I can't wait for specifics. Did he stay out late? Skip a team meal? Blow off Jack Del Rio's Saturday night showing of Vision Quest?
- Miles Austin, come on down! After catching 10 passes for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns, you're the latest contestant in "Most Popular Free Agent Pickup of the Week!" Just make sure you don't look at the stats for last week's contestant, Browns WR Mohamed Massaquoi, who had one reception for 16 yards yesterday, and dropped a couple of passes.
- Speaking of the Browns, I'm really glad I started Derek Anderson (2-for-17, 23 yards, INT) in a league this week because of Drew Brees' bye and the uncertainty surrounding Eli Manning. Thanks, Derek.
- If you're looking for more immediate gratification because of Austin's bye in Week 6, Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin might be your guy after breaking out with six receptions, 142 yards and two TDs. He'll be harder to get, since he's already owned in 47.68 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.
- Speaking of the Eagles, here's an article noting that Brian Westbrook got eight touches on Sunday. He did score once, but if you're looking for first-round production, it's going to be rare.
- I was right to think the Giants might pull Eli Manning with a big lead. I just didn't think that his 10 passes before halftime would result in eight completions, 173 yards and two TDs. Oh, well.
- Giants WR Mario Manningham left Sunday's game with a chest injury, but it sounds like he'll be OK.
- Patriots TE Ben Watson suffered a head injury that caused him to leave Sunday's game early. More news on his condition later in the week.
- In the aftermath of Fred Taylor's ankle surgery, here's yesterday's carry breakdown for the Pats: 17 for Sammy Morris, five for Laurence Maroney, four for Kevin Faulk.
- Did you sell high on Willis McGahee, like I told you to? If not, I can't imagine you were too happy with his two touches.
- After the Titans got pummeled by the Colts to drop to 0-5, you're going to hear some calls for Vince Young to replace Kerry Collins at QB - like this one. Head coach Jeff Fisher says he's sticking with Collins, but keep your eye on this one.
I'll be out of town on Tuesday, so I'll be back here Thursday morning with more news.
