Broncos RB Travis Henry has won his appeal against the NFL, and will not be suspended. This makes the Broncos' backfield extremely crowded, as Selvin Young and Andre Hall could both be ready against the Chiefs this week. Thanks to some injuries, Henry had 15 carries for 49 yards and a pair of TDs in Week 13.
If you own any of the Broncos RBs, try to wait a couple of days for more word out of Fantasy Hater Shanahan in Denver. If you held a gun to my head right now, I'd pick Henry as the guy to get the biggest workload, but that's really a guess.
Elsewhere around fantasyland, where the news is typically slow on this Wednesday:
- That huge sigh of relief you heard yesterday came from St. Louis, where QB Marc Bulger passed a neurological exam that will allow him to play this week. With Gus Frerotte injured, the team was looking at starting Brock Berlin against the Bengals.
- Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that WR Santonio Holmes "could play" against the Patriots, but it wasn't an emphatic "could." Stay tuned.
- Still waiting for Larry Johnson's miraculous comeback? It's not gonna happen this week, according to Herm Edwards. Edwards also made it sound like QB Brodie Croyle will miss another game.
- Just to make it official, Giants RB Derrick Ward (fractured fibula) is headed for injured reserve and is done for the season.
- It still looks like Sage Rosenfels will get the start at QB for the Texans this week.
- Here's a good article about my man Justin Fargas, who probably saved at least one of my fantasy teams' seasons.
- Here's a good one on Titans WR Justin Gage, who - as I've said before - could be a nice pickup for your fantasy playoffs. If you had Roy Williams, Gage is just the kind of guy you should be grabbing.
- Speaking of Williams, his teammate Mike Furrey could be a big beneficiary of his injury.
- My friend Roger Rotter has Ryan Grant listed as this week's top-rated running back. Check out his rankings before setting your lineups.
- Don't forget to set your lineups early, at least if you have any Bears or Redskins (they play Thursday night).
That's all I've got for now, folks. See you tomorrow.
