I mean seriously Diego, what the hell were you thinking? Maybe a future Xyience ad or something?

Plenty of news and rumors going on within the UFC. First off, the much hyped rematch between long feuding and current coaches of The Ultimate Fighter 3 is back on. It had been reported earlier that because of Ortiz's knee injury, sustained during the taping of TUF 3, he would have to drop out of the eagerly anticipated rematch, with Forrest Griffin stepping in for the injured Ortiz. Apparently Ortiz feels that his knee will heal in time to fight Shamrock and will take place at UFC 61. UFC 61 - Bitter Rivals, will take place on July 8th in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Casino. Also on the same card will be the "Rubber Match" between Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Quite frankly, the UFC Heavyweight division is so thin right now would there really be another fight anyone would want to watch? Other fights rumored to be on the July 8th card are: Joe Stevenson, winner of TUF 2, dropping down to the 155 pound division to fight the always dangerous Yves Edwards. Former UFC champion Frank Mir will face dangerous Paul Buentello. And Jeff Monson is also rumored to be on the card, but his opponent is not yet determined. The newest installment of Ultimate Fight Night on Spike TV will air on June 28th. Rumored to be on the card is the newly signed Brazilian fighter Anderson Silva (pictured above), taking on fan favorite Chris Leben. Remember that name people, because Anderson Silva is an incredible fighter and Zuffa really scored when they signed him to a four fight contract. If he gets by the always tough Leben, look for him to get a shoot at the championship in the very near future. Rich Franklin, consider yourself on notice. Also, Josh Koscheck has announced on his Myspace blog, that he will be facing former UFC champ Dave Mene. This should be an easy fight for Josh, as I feel Menne has seen better days. Another TUF alum will make his UFC debut that night when, Jorge Gurgel will face Mark Hominick. Finally, in UFC 62 news. UFC Champion, Chuck Liddell, will be back in action since his KO victory over Randy Couture in February. This time Chuck will be facing Renato Sobral in a rematch in August. You may remember last time Chuck and Sobral went at it, Renato ended up eating a very nasty kick to the face.

File this one under rumors, and a HUGE rumor at that. And like any rumor there isn't any real source to goto for confirmation, only rumblings close to those within the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community. Yet it does sound like a good possibility this fight will take place in K-1. With Rickson receiving 3 Million dollars and Sakuraba pocketing 2 million for this fight. But remember this is only a rumor. And whenever the name Rickson Gracie is brought up I tend to be very skeptical. Rumors of Rickson Gracie fighting, are kind of like hearing of rumors that the Beatles are getting back together. You can wish and hope it's true, but deep down inside you know it's not going to happen. So all you can do is cross your fingers and pray. The thing is Sakuraba did make the big jump from Pride to K-1. So who knows, maybe it's a possibility. Yet with Rickson nearing the age of 50, this is anything but a comeback fight. It sounds more like a last hurrah, a final last bash to top off a MMA career that has been more legend and myth than fact. And who better to fight against but Sakuraba, the man who has defeated four Gracies already. Sakuraba the Gracie Hunter, with wins over Royce, Renzo, Royler and Ryan, would really be the perfect opponent. Oh and I gotta write this just once since we are on the subject of Rickson Gracie...
