Travis Kvapil grabbed his sixth career Craftsman Truck Series victory at Michigan Saturday. Kvapil stalked Kyle Busch for several laps before making his final pass for the lead as they approached the white flag. Why can't a Busch Series-regular pull that kind of move on a Buschwacking Cup driver?
Mike Skinner extended his points-lead with his fourth-place finish, with Ron Hornaday finishing ninth. Most of the usual suspects finished toward the front of the field, with Brendan Gaughan coming home third to move from 19th to 10th in points. Mark Martin led most of the early laps but lost the eingine just shy of half-way and finished a disappointing 33rd.
The horsepower reduction on the Toyota engines appears to be having its desired effect, with Kvapil's Ford sitting on the pole and three Fords and four Chevrolets in the top-12.
