While I wrote earlier that Chris Peterson should be considered for the Michigan, or possibly UCLA job should it open, it appears Peterson may be happy where he is. The topic came up while talking with a member of the Boise staff at halftime during the Hawaii/Boise State game. I was told that Peterson did not seek the head coaching job when Dan Hawkins left and was happy to be an offensive coordinator. According to the staff member, Peterson had to be talked into the job and that had no real designs to be a head coach. Now whether this stays true if offered a return trip to California and a huge pay raise remains to be seen. He was born in Yuba City, and played and coached at UC Davis. But at least it appears that it's going to take quite a bit of effort for Peterson to move. Great news for Boise fans if true.
