Thoughts on Selig may not attend Bonds 'chase' games

Friday, February 9, 2007, 10:33 AM EST [General]

Stay home Mr. Sellig!  Why would you want to associate with an articifually inhance human being like Barry Bonds who in essence has "cheated" his was way to be on the cusp of such a record.

The best thing to do would be ignore thise event an any other for that matter as no matter what you do contradicts who you are.  You supposedly have the best interest of baseball as a part of your mission and to acknowlegge atrificially enhanced feats would go conrtary to that mission.

If your goal is to keep baseball pure, ignore Barry Bonds, Mark Mcguire, and others.

After all, you have had ample opportuntity to reinstate Pete Rose and rectifty a situtation that is appalling.  Pete Rose probably put more fans in the stadiums that Barry Bonns could dream of.  Probably more kids would  want to emulate Pete with his hustle and attitude that the artificial muscles of Barry Bonds or Mark McQuire

Baseball in general and the Hall of Fall would be enhanced greatly by your willingness to acknowledge that Pete was wrong but so has  been baseball for not allowing him and legions of fans the utlmate prize he deserves:  induction into the hall of fame.

Ive' been to the hall a number of times and if we allow drug inhanced players into it and not Pete Rose (or even a Shoeless Joe for that matter) I will probabtly NEVER visit it again!

    NO NO NARRON

Wednesday, June 21, 2006, 07:55 PM EST [General]

I'm sitting here watching Jerry Narron manage the Cincinnati Reds to yet another defeat that he is helping his team snatch from the jaws of victory.

I have been an avid Reds fan since the 1950s and have lived through many disappointing seasons over the years.  I just moved back to this area after being away for 36 years and was so excited (and still am actually) about the prospects of our team this year.  Even two of my sons who still live at home have gotten the fever and we've made it to four games and have either listened to or watched virtually every game this year.

I am tire of Jerry Narron and his utter lack of emotion and continually leaving relievers in the game when it is obvioius that they have no clue on how to get the other batters out.  Last night it was White, tonight it's Hammond.

Narron never argues calls, never shows any emotion when the other team hits a grand slam in the first inning or any other inning for that matter.

I say to Mr. Castelline and Krivsky:  Can Narron and let  Bucky Dent run the team.  He can't do any worse and he certainly knows how to win.

Thoughts on Hampton sick of officiating controversy

Friday, February 10, 2006, 11:53 AM EST [General]

A response to Hampton sick of officiating controversy:  I am definitely sick of virtually everyone from the Steelers.  Officiating is a part of the game however, it should not impact negatively the outcome.

My beef however, is with the whining done by the Steelers over officiating when they WON!!!!  In the Cincinnati playoff there were several calls, and one which erronously the officials called a "no penalty" when the steelers on 4th and short  obviously moved before the snap of the ball.  The Bengals crossed the line but the officials said that neither Cincy was offsides, nor the Steelers a false start.  The replays clearly showed the guard for Pittsburgh move but  "no infraction by either team".  Instead of 4th and over 5 and a probably punt, the Steeler drive was kept alive, they scored and ultimately won.

A punt a perhaps the Bengals come back, score and win.  No one will know.

But we all had to listen the Steeler players bemoan how officiating "could" have cost them the game ad infinitim.

Officiating is a part of the game and the team that can overcome the adversity of a bad call is the team that is possibly better prepared to win.
