    FOX Sports Bloggers NBA Playoff Pick 'Em Game FINAL

    So, unfortunately for me and the rest of the Orlando faithful, the Magic couldn't pull it off last night. And, news this morning and afternoon reports that Hedo Turkoflu is opting out of the final yea of his contract.

    I want to be the first fan to say "Thanks, Hedo." You really contributed to this Eastern Conference Champs run the Magic went on, and I hope that wherever you end up, you find the same success and happiness you did in Orlando. Thanks, again, Hedo. You are the man!

    Now, down to "business". Here are the picks I got from everybody in the contest prior to the start of the NBA Finals:

    So, nobody hit the nail on the head in terms of who won and in how many games.

    2009 FOX Sports Blogger NHL Playoff Pick 'Em Game FINAL

    THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS ARE STANLEY CUP CHAMPS! YES! GO PENS! HAHA!

    Down to "business". Here are the predictions I received from each contestant prior to the Stanley Cup Finals:

    Mike Greenspire- Penguins in 6
    Tezgm99- Red Wings in 6
    Ian2813- Penguins in 7
    Dev6159- Penguins in 6
    mstheat- Red Wings in 7

    Now, as you can see, our 2008 champion, Ian2813 was the only one to get the pick entirely correct, including number of games. (I remind you that the number-of-games bonus was only applicable if you made the correct champion pick also)

    Not Another Game 6 Preview

    From a Penguin Perspective

    Tonight, the Red Wings have a chance at wrapping up back-to-back Stanley Cups in 6 games, in PIttsburgh.

    Detroit
    Keys to Win:
    Detroit's power play and penalty killing in Game 5 was exceptional, scoring 3 of 5 goals in the one-man-advantage situation. The return of Pavel Datsyuk symbolized a huge problem for Pittsburgh, and he didn't under-achieve at all. He did the best job of keeping the puck in the Penguins' zone out of anybody on that team a few nights ago.

    So, obviously, my point here is that the key for Detroit to win tonight's game is to be as strong on the power play as they were on Saturday.

    Pittsburgh
    Keys to Win:
    Wow, Pittsburgh played a horrible game 3 nights ago. I never expected to see them that badly beaten up in a game. In the past two Stanley Cup playoffs, the Red Wings have outscored the Penguins 21-6 in "the Joe", which leads me to believe that the Joe Louis Arena is the toughest place to play in all of hockey, especially considering how good of a team Pittsburgh really is.

    So, the key for the Pens to force a Game 7 tonight is to get back to the physical style of hockey that Dan Bylsma had them playing the entire playoffs, up until Game 5. Detroit was more aggresive on the boards, their hitting was devastating and that is the big reason why Pittsburgh couldn't do anything in either end.

    Malkin and Crosby had good game 4's, but I don't know where they went in game 5. MIA or something, but for the Pens to win, I think solid play from, arguably the best two players in the game, Gino and Sid, is a necessity.

    My prediction for tonight's game 6:
    I feel it's possible that the Penguins will come back and win the series, but they need to play a hell of a lot more physical than they did in Game 5. A simple change in venue shouldn't affect a team as much as it does the Pens.

    Having that been said, I'm gonna go with the Pens to beat the Wings tonight, by a final score of 4-3, in an overtime period.
