My visit to the F1 site revealed no improvement, but that may be a local problem...my internat service is not the greatest.
Seems the Dwark has outdone himself (which takes some doing) in the inapproproate remarks department. A comparison to Hitler is exactly what Spanky needed...he must be cringing in a corner somewhere.
I referred to Max as Spanky on the James Allen blog and got "modified". They changed it to "MM". I guess a racing hack can't get too smart with the powers that be.
Further to my 4th of July post below...the wife put our car into the gate post this morning, seriously damaging the left front end. So, we missed the fire works for the first time since 1983. I swear she did it on purpose...
A happy Independence Day to all my fellow Yanks on here.
Jayhawk - thanks for taking the lead setting this group up (as you do with many things on this site, including your tireless activities as scorer & statistician for our prediction league).
By the way, it seems Fox has ironed out most of the kinks, and the postings appear to be going up properly on the F1 stories.
To all my fellow Americans out there, happy fourth of July. And, to everyone else as well.
The American Consulate will do their annual awesome fireworks display later tonight- it's quite spectacular. The consulate is in a beautiful old Thai house on the river- the whole town goes there to watch. They used to have open house with all the usual 4th stuff, but that stopped after 9/11/01. But, it's still fun to sit in one of the restaurants or pubs across the river and watch the sky light up.
MotoGp and Indycars this weekend (Monday morning here). I'm really looking forward to watching the bikes at Laguna Seca. Don't know if the IRL will be on TV here...probably not.
Morning Gents - glad to be onboard! Always a thrill to stumble around the FOX site without much instruction given....hope everyone has a safe and sane Fourth of July!
It's a website of a company that prepares some of the cars for the series, and other historic race series - they've got lots of good pictures. Just click on the "Race Event Gallery" on the left side of the home page.
By the way, all the photos I uploaded are from the Historic Grand Prix race at Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day weekend (as is my current avatar photo). I took lots more. It is a great race series - they run only normally aspirated cars from the 3-litre formula era, up to the early 80's. Most are Cosworth-powered, but one guy, Bud Moeller, has an ex-Gilles Villenuve T-5 Ferrari (which was not at Lime Rock as it was acting "temperamental"), so he was running his Ensign that weekend. They allow "wing cars," but the skirts must be fixed no closer than 40mm from the track surface. They don't run very many races per year, but if you guys get a chance to see them, it's a hoot. You can really get up close to the cars. This website has lots of pictures from the Lime Rock weekend - www.leechapmanracing.com/race_reports70L... They're supposed to be at Road America on 7/10, Infineon on 8/21 and New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ on 10/2.
