ORLANDO - Marcus Jordan needs to run his tweets by his older brother from here on out.
Jordan posted the following tweet this past weekend while in Las Vegas for his father, Michael’s, fantasy camp.
``Last night was stupid,” Central Florida’s sophomore guard tweeted. ``… 35k at Haze {nightclub}. … Totals 50k something the whole day. Damn!! Going to the pool again today. … Gotta relax!”
Jordan, speaking for the first time about the tweet (which was later removed) on Wednesday, said it was a “mistake”:
``I didn’t mean it the way it came across,” Marcus Jordan said. ``My family and friends know the type of person I am.”
However, the tweet did prompt a phone call from both Michael Jordan and his ex-wife, Juanita.
``I had conversations with both my parents,” Marcus said.
As for his allowance?
``I’m still good,” he laughed.
Marcus was with his new teammate, his older brother, Jeffrey, out in Las Vegas.
Jeffrey is the more laid-back of the brothers.
Remember, Marcus also posted a tweet about Kobe Bryant following the Lakers most recent NBA title:
``NO ONE… And I mean NO ONE should EVER com par kobe Bryant to my dad an say that he is anywhere near close to my dad.”
That’s a fair comment – one in which I don’t disagree. Michael Jordan was the best player I’ve seen in my lifetime, but it is far more entertaining when his son puts up a tweet like that.
``Marcus has always been outgoing and a people person,” said Jeffrey, who is sitting out this season after transferring in from Illinois.
``I’m used to it,” he laughed. ``I’m always having to do damage control. Things happen and he realizes that now it’s time to focus on basketball.”
But Marcus’ allowance isn’t the only thing that won’t be shut off. His twitter account will go on as well.
``I just have to be more cautious,” Marcus admitted of his future tweets.
