The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the country's potential No. 1 player in the country, Anthony Davis Jr., will commit to Kentucky.
Scout.com's Dave Telep was the first to report that the 6-foot-10 Davis — a Chicago native who has gone from obscurity to a lock McDonald's All-American in just a few months — has made a decision.
The newspaper put out a story that Davis will choose Kentucky over Ohio State, Syracuse and DePaul.
The paper also wrote the following:
"The rumors/sources that have Davis choosing Kentucky are also alleging that the commitment cost $200,000. Davis Sr., has flat out denied everything."
I spoke to Davis Sr., moments ago, and he was rattled:
"I'm clearly upset," he said. "It's crazy. Nonsense."

Another example of irresponsible, instantaneous "journalism". The internet has spawned way too many factual stories based on unnamed, unreliable sources. Shame on this writer -- certainly not worthy of being called a journalist. Wonder if he'll still have his job next week.
