I hope everyone enjoyed the guest bloggers over the past week. My goal is to continue to use them in this space — since I received a good amount of positive feedback upon my return from Italy.
Speaking of Italy, it was an unbelievable trip — the best I've taken in my life. I got a few days of relaxation in the Amalfi Coast, then my wife and I ran around Rome for a couple days and finished in Venice — the most beautiful city I've ever been to.
My final tally was 22 SCOOPS of gelato in my week-long stay in Italy, so that means I need to shed a few LB's in the next few weeks.
Anyway, I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things today on the blog — and will also be covering Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight in which the Boston Celtics will look to close out the Orlando Magic.
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS’ DILLARD HEADING TO DAYTON
Southern Illinois point guard Kevin Dillard has, according to sources, chosen to play at Dayton.
The 6-foot Dillard averaged 12.3 points and 5.0 assists this past season for Chris Lowery and the Salukis.
Dillard had narrowed his choices down to Dayton and Alabama, but a source told FOXSports.com that the Crimson Tide opted to go in a different direction on Sunday and Dillard then chose Dayton.
MIKE RICE TO FILL OUT STAFF WITH MACON
Sources told FOXSports.com that new Rutgers coach Mike Rice, who has hired David Cox as his associate head coach and brought Jimmy Martelli with him from Robert Morris as his third assistant, has chosen Fordham assistant Van Macon as his final assistant.
Macon, who spent the past nine years at Hofstra, should help give Rice a strong New York presence.
COACH K WON'T HAVE FIRST JUCO KID AFTER ALL
Carrick Felix was slated to become Mike Krzyzewki's first junior college kid in his tenure.
However, according to multiple sources, the 6-foot-6 Felix, an Arizona native who played at the College of Southern Idaho, will not be attending Duke this season after all.
Felix is an athletic wing who averaged 14.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this past season at Southern Idaho. He has three years left of eligibility.
