Midnight Madness begins tonight.
It finally means that the offseason off-the-court antics have mercifully come to an end, and I'm wasting little time getting after it.
Over the next six days, I'll see seven practices in five different states – including six teams in the latest FOXSports.com top 25 – and will also speak to coaches and players from 23 BCS teams.
My itinerary is below, but you can follow all of my exploits right here over the next week or so – largely thanks to prep school coaching legend (well, that may be a stretch) Chris Chaney, who will be my wingman on the trek and will allow me to blog while he is behind the wheel.
So, check early and often, and I will do my best to provide continuous updates on this blog:
The only issue: My sources indicate that Chaney snores like an ox.
Anyway, here's the schedule:
Friday – No. 1 Kansas for Midnight Madness
Saturday – No. 18 Illinois
Sunday – No 14 Butler and No. 10 Purdue
Monday – Notre Dame and No. 4 Michigan State
Tuesday – No. 16 Michigan
Wednesday – Big East Media Day in NYC (four teams are in the FOXSports.com preseason top 25)
Any suggestions for places to eat, drink or whatever should be sent to jngoodman@aol.com. We'll need all the help we can get.
Have a good time, Jeff. Sorry I won't be there at Allen Field House. Love that place.
